Fidelity scales and performance measures to support implementation and quality assurance for first episode psychosis services
Donald Addington,Maximillian Birchwood,Peter G. Jones,Eoin Killackey,David McDaid,Marianne Melau,Masafumi Mizuno,Kim T. Mueser,Merete Nordentoft +8 more
TL;DR: F fidelity and outcome measures which can be used to support broad implementation of first episode psychosis services and ensure quality of existing services are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of erythrocyte omega-3 index, fatty acids and molecular phospholipid species in people at ultra-high risk of developing psychosis and healthy people
Ayedh Alqarni,Todd W. Mitchell,Patrick D. McGorry,Barnaby Nelson,Connie Markulev,Hok Pan Yuen,Miriam R. Schäfer,Maximus Berger,Nilufar Mossaheb,Monika Schlögelhofer,Stefan Smesny,Ian B. Hickie,Gregor Berger,Eric Y.H. Chen,Lieuwe de Haan,Dorien H. Nieman,Merete Nordentoft,Anita Riecher-Rössler,Swapna Verma,Andrew Thompson,Alison R. Yung,G. Paul Amminger,Barbara J. Meyer +22 more
TL;DR: There are clear differences in the proportions of erythrocyte fatty acids and phospholipids between UHR and healthy controls and UHR had higher concentrations of SM and lower concentrations of PE and these differences may represent a promising prodromal risk biomarker in the UHR population to aid clinical diagnosis.

ASD and ADHD have a similar burden of rare protein-truncating variants
Satterstrom Fk,Raymond K. Walters,Tarjinder Singh,Emilie M. Wigdor,Francesco Lescai,Ditte Demontis,Jack A. Kosmicki,Jakob Grove,Christine Stevens,Jonas Bybjerg-Grauholm,Marie Bækvad-Hansen,Duncan S. Palmer,Julian Maller,Merete Nordentoft,Ole Mors,Elise B. Robinson,David M. Hougaard,Thomas Werge,Preben Bo Mortensen,Neale Bm,Anders D. Børglum,Mark J. Daly +21 more
TL;DR: Exome sequences from over 13,000 DNSB samples are presented, finding that ASD and ADHD show a strikingly similar burden of rare protein-truncating variants, both significantly higher than controls.
Journal Article
Treatment of patients with first-episode psychosis: two-year outcome data from the Danish National Schizophrenia Project.
Bent Rosenbaum,Kristian Valbak,Susanne Harder,Per Knudsen,Anne Køster,M. Lajer,Anne Lindhardt,Gerda Winther,Lone Petersen,Per E. Jørgensen,Merete Nordentoft,Anne Helms Andreasen +11 more
TL;DR: Patients receiving integrated assertive treatment faired better than those being treated with the less intensive method of supportive psychodynamic psychotherapy, and the latter group improved more than the treatment-as-usual group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and validation of multivariable prediction models of remission, recovery, and quality of life outcomes in people with first episode psychosis: A machine learning approach
Samuel P Leighton,Rachel Upthegrove,Rajeev Krishnadas,Michael E. Benros,Matthew R. Broome,Georgios V. Gkoutos,Peter F. Liddle,Swaran P. Singh,Linda Everard,Peter B. Jones,David Fowler,Vimal Sharma,Nick Freemantle,Rune Haubo Bojesen Christensen,Nikolai Albert,Merete Nordentoft,Merete Nordentoft,Matthias Schwannauer,Jonathan Cavanagh,Andrew Gumley,Max Birchwood,Pavan Mallikarjun +21 more
TL;DR: It is shown that prediction models can reliably and prospectively identify poor remission and recovery outcomes at 1 year for patients with first-episode psychosis using baseline clinical variables at first clinical contact.
