Circulating microRNAs in sera correlate with soluble biomarkers of immune activation but do not predict mortality in ART treated individuals with HIV-1 infection : a case control study

Daniel D Murray, +1489 more
- 14 Oct 2015 -
TL;DR: No associations with mortality were found with any circulating miRNAs studied and these results cast doubt onto the effectiveness of circulating miRNA as early predictors of mortality or the major underlying diseases that contribute to mortality in participants treated for HIV-1 infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Raster3D Version 2.0. A program for photorealistic molecular graphics.

TL;DR: Raster3D Version 2.0 is a program suite for the production of photorealistic molecular graphics images, and is particularly suited for use in producing large raster images of macromolecules for output to a film recorder or high-quality color printer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant defense systems: the role of carotenoids, tocopherols, and thiols.

TL;DR: The ability of the lipid-soluble carotenoids to quench singlet molecular oxygen may explain some anticancer properties of the carOTenoids, independent of their provitamin A activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reversible conversion of nitroxyl anion to nitric oxide by superoxide dismutase.

TL;DR: It is reported that SOD supports a reversible reduction of NO to NO - and that NO- may be a physiologically important form of endothelium-derived relaxing factor.
