Evidence of flat bands and correlated states in buckled graphene superlattices
Jinhai Mao,Jinhai Mao,S. P. Milovanović,Miša Anđelković,Xinyuan Lai,Yang Cao,Kenji Watanabe,Takashi Taniguchi,Lucian Covaci,François M. Peeters,Andre K. Geim,Yuhang Jiang,Yuhang Jiang,Eva Y. Andrei +13 more
TL;DR: Buckled monolayer graphene superlattices are found to provide an alternative to twisted bilayer graphene for the study of flat bands and correlated states in a carbon-based material.
Journal ArticleDOI
Composite super-moiré lattices in double-aligned graphene heterostructures.
Zihao Wang,Yi Bo Wang,Jun Yin,Jun Yin,Endre Tóvári,Yaping Yang,Li Lin,Matthew Holwill,John Birkbeck,David J. Perello,Shuigang Xu,Johanna Zultak,Roman V. Gorbachev,Roman V. Gorbachev,Andrey V. Fal'ko,Vladimir I. Fal'ko,Angelika Knothe,Colin R. Woods +28 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a route to spectrum reconstruction at all energies by using graphene which is aligned to two hexagonal boron nitride layers, one can make electrons scatter in the differential moire pattern which results in spectral changes at arbitrarily low energies.

Composite super-moir\'e lattices in double aligned graphene heterostructures
Zihao Wang,Yi Bo Wang,Jun Yin,Endre Tóvári,Yaping Yang,Li Lin,Matthew Holwill,John Birkbeck,David J. Perello,Shuigang Xu,Johanna Zultak,Roman V. Gorbachev,Andrey V. Kretinin,T. Woods +25 more
TL;DR: By using graphene which is aligned to two hexagonal boron nitride layers, one can make electrons scatter in the differential moiré pattern which results in spectral changes at arbitrarily low energies, and it is demonstrated that the strength of this potential relies crucially on the atomic reconstruction of graphene within the differentialMoiré super cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Double Moiré with a Twist: Supermoiré in Encapsulated Graphene
TL;DR: This work is able to distinguish effects due to lattice relaxation and due to the interfering SM and provides a clear picture on the origin of recently experimentally observed effects in such trilayer heterostuctures.
Journal ArticleDOI
KITE: high-performance accurate modelling of electronic structure and response functions of large molecules, disordered crystals and heterostructures
Simão M. João,Miša Anđelković,Lucian Covaci,Tatiana G. Rappoport,Tatiana G. Rappoport,João M. V. P. Lopes,Aires Ferreira +6 more
TL;DR: KITE as discussed by the authors is a general purpose open-source tight-binding software for accurate real-space simulations of electronic structure and quantum transport properties of large-scale molecular and conde...
