A reconciled estimate of ice-sheet mass balance

TL;DR: There is good agreement between different satellite methods—especially in Greenland and West Antarctica—and that combining satellite data sets leads to greater certainty, and the mass balance of Earth’s polar ice sheets is estimated by combining the results of existing independent techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sea ice thickness, freeboard, and snow depth products from Operation IceBridge airborne data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe methods for the retrieval of sea ice thickness, freeboard, and snow depth using data from a multi-sensor suite of instruments on NASA's Operation IceBridge airborne campaign.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calibration of the CryoSat-2 Interferometer and Measurement of Across-Track Ocean Slope

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the arrival angle of the echo relative to the interferometer baseline, the attitude of the satellite determined by the star trackers, and estimates of the ocean surface across-track slope from the EGM08 geoid, to determine the errors in the inter-ferometer estimate of surface slope as functions of the roll angle and ocean surface wave height.
