Andrew Shepherd,Erik R. Ivins,Geruo A,Valentina R. Barletta,Michael J. Bentley,Srinivas Bettadpur,Kate Briggs,David H. Bromwich,René Forsberg,Natalia Galin,Martin Horwath,S. S. Jacobs,Ian Joughin,Matt A. King,Matt A. King,Jan T. M. Lenaerts,Jilu Li,Stefan R. M. Ligtenberg,Adrian Luckman,Scott B. Luthcke,Malcolm McMillan,Rakia Meister,Glenn A. TL;DR: There is good agreement between different satellite methods—especially in Greenland and West Antarctica—and that combining satellite data sets leads to greater certainty, and the mass balance of Earth’s polar ice sheets is estimated by combining the results of existing independent techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
25 years of elevation changes of the Greenland Ice Sheet from ERS, Envisat, and CryoSat-2 radar altimetry
Louise Sandberg Sørensen,Sebastian B. Simonsen,René Forsberg,K. Khvorostovsky,Rakia Meister,M. Engdahl +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a newly developed data product of 25 years of elevation changes of the Greenland Ice Sheet, derived from satellite radar altimetry, made publicly available within the Greenland ice sheets project as part of the ESA Climate Change Initiative programme.
Journal ArticleDOI
Envisat-derived elevation changes of the Greenland ice sheet, and a comparison with ICESat results in the accumulation area
Louise Sandberg Sørensen,Sebastian B. Simonsen,Rakia Meister,René Forsberg,Joanna Fredenslund Levinsen,Thomas Flament +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an along track method for deriving rates of elevation change can successfully be applied to Envisat radar altimetry data (2002-2010), which provides improved resolution and coverage compared to previous results obtained from cross-over methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating GRACE Mass Change Time Series for the Antarctic and Greenland Ice Sheet—Methods and Results
Andreas Groh,Martin Horwath,Alexander Horvath,Rakia Meister,Louise Sandberg Sørensen,Louise Sandberg Sørensen,Valentina R. Barletta,René Forsberg,Bert Wouters,Bert Wouters,Pavel Ditmar,Jiangjun Ran,Roland Klees,Xiaoli Su,Kun Shang,Junyi Guo,C. K. Shum,Ernst Schrama,Andrew Shepherd +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, an assessment of the performance of GMB algorithms using actual GRACE monthly solutions for a prescribed period as well as synthetic data sets was conducted in the scope of the European Space Agency's Climate Change Initiative (CCI) project for the AIS and GIS, and was, for the first time, open to everyone.
