Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison between the peaks-over-threshold method and the annual maximum method for flood frequency analysis

TL;DR: Bezak et al. as mentioned in this paper presented a comparison of the results of both methods for data from the Litija 1 gauging station on the Sava River in Slovenia, and the results showed a better performance for the method of L-moments (ML) when compared with the conventional moments and maximum likelihood estimation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bivariate flood frequency analysis using the copula function: a case study of the Litija station on the Sava River

TL;DR: In this article, the Gumbel-Hougaard copula was selected as the most appropriate for the pair of peak discharge and hydrograph volume (Q-V).
Journal ArticleDOI

Soil erosion modelling: A global review and statistical analysis.

Pasquale Borrelli, +68 more
TL;DR: This database intends to support the upcoming country-based United Nations global soil-erosion assessment in addition to helping to inform soil erosion research priorities by building a foundation for future targeted, in-depth analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Copula-based IDF curves and empirical rainfall thresholds for flash floods and rainfall-induced landslides

TL;DR: In this article, the intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) relationship was constructed using the Frank copula function for several rainfall stations using high-resolution rainfall data with an average subsample length of 34 years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trivariate Frequency Analyses of Peak Discharge, Hydrograph Volume and Suspended Sediment Concentration Data Using Copulas

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of Archimedean copula functions is used for multivariate frequency analysis, but discharge and suspended sediment concentrations have not yet been modelled together with the 3D copula function.
