The effect of surface modification with silane coupling agent on suppressing the photo-catalytic activity of fine TiO2 particles as inorganic UV filter

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of surface modification with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and n-propyltriethyltrihexilanes (PTES) on photo-catalytic activity and UV-shielding ability of fine TiO2 particles were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrogen production from the gasification of lignin with nickel catalysts in supercritical water

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of characterization for reduced Ni/MgO catalysts showed that Ni metal and NiO-mgO phase are formed after the reduction of calcined catalyst by H2 and Ni metal surface area decreased with increase in calcination temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Critical Review of the Current Status of Thickness Measurements for Ultrathin SiO2 on Si, Part V: Results of a CCQM Pilot Study

TL;DR: In this paper, a study was carried out for the measurement of ultrathin SiO on (100) and (111) orientation silicon wafer in the thickness range 1.5-8 nm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fast and facile synthesis of silica coated silver nanoparticles by microwave irradiation.

TL;DR: A novel, fast and facile microwave technique has been developed for preparing monodispersed silica coated silver nanoparticles and straightforward surface functionalization of the prepared Ag@SiO(2) nanoparticles with desired functional groups was performed to make the particles useful for many applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of organic surface treatment by methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane on the photostability of TiO2

TL;DR: In this article, the surface treatment of titanium dioxide powder using methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MCPTMS) has been carried out and the effects on the reduction of photocatalytic activity have been determined by the color change of the mixture of original and surface-treated powder with 1,3-butanediol after irradiation of ultraviolet light.
