Proteolysis and neurogenesis modulated by LNR domain proteins explosion support male differentiation and sacrificial behaviour in the iteroparous crustacean Oithona nana.

TL;DR: Results suggest that the O. nana male hypermotility is sustained by LDP-modulated proteolysis allowing the releases and conversions of amino acid into the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate, which could support the hypothesis of a sacrificial behaviour in males at the metabolic level.

A cross-biomes bacterial diversity shed light on ocean-atmosphere microbial transmission

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors simultaneously surveyed the genomic diversity of airborne and marine bacterial communities across 15, 000 kilometers in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and found that higher variability of microbial community composition was observed in the atmosphere than in the ocean surface waters.

A transcriptomic approach to study marine plankton holobionts

TL;DR: The genetic basis of photosymbiosis, through a transcriptomic approach on marine plankton organisms, is investigated, more specifically on associations occurring between radiolarian host and dinoflagellates symbiont living inside the host cell.
