The Classification of Glomerulonephritis in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Revisited
Jan J. Weening,Vivette D. D'Agati,Melvin M. Schwartz,Surya V. Seshan,Charles E. Alpers,Gerald B. Appel,James E. Balow,Jan A. Bruijn,Terence Cook,Franco Ferrario,Agnes B. Fogo,Ellen M. Ginzler,Lee A. Hebert,Gary Hill,Prue Hill,J. Charles Jennette,Norella C T Kong,Philippe Lesavre,Michael D. Lockshin,Lai-Meng Looi,Hirofumi Makino,Luiz Antonio Ribeiro de Moura,Michio Nagata +22 more
TL;DR: The main advantages of the current revised classification is that it provides a clear and unequivocal description of the various lesions and classes of lupus nephritis, allowing a better standardization and lending a basis for further clinicopathologic studies.

Journal ArticleDOI
A prospective, multicenter, randomized trial comparing steroids and pulse cyclophosphamide versus steroids and oral cyclophosphamide in the treatment of generalized Wegener's granulomatosis
Loïc Guillevin,Jean-François Cordier,Franïois Lhote,Pascal Cohen,Bernard Jarrousse,Isabelle Royer,Philippe Lesavre,Christian Jacquot,Pascal Bindi,Philippe Bielefeld,Jean-Franïois Desson,Frédérick Détrée,Alain Dubois,Eric Hachulla,Bruno Hoen,Dominique Jacomy,Christian Seigneuric,Dominique Lauque,Marc Stern,Maité Longy-Boursier +19 more
TL;DR: Pulse CYC is as effective as oral CYC in achieving initial remission of WG and is associated with fewer side effects and lower mortality, however, in the long term, treatment with pulse CYC does not maintain remission or prevent relapses as well as Oral CYC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acquired and genetic complement abnormalities play a critical role in dense deposit disease and other C3 glomerulopathies
Aude Servais,Aude Servais,Laure-Hélène Noël,Lubka T. Roumenina,Moglie Le Quintrec,Stéphanie Ngo,Marie-Agnès Dragon-Durey,Marie-Agnès Dragon-Durey,Marie-Alice Macher,Julien Zuber,Julien Zuber,Alexandre Karras,François Provôt,Bruno Moulin,Jean-Pierre Grünfeld,Jean-Pierre Grünfeld,Patrick Niaudet,Patrick Niaudet,Philippe Lesavre,Philippe Lesavre,Véronique Frémeaux-Bacchi +20 more
TL;DR: A critical role of fluid-phase alternative pathway dysregulation in the pathogenesis of C3 glomerulopathies as well as in immune complex-mediated glomerular diseases is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary glomerulonephritis with isolated C3 deposits: a new entity which shares common genetic risk factors with haemolytic uraemic syndrome
Aude Servais,Véronique Frémeaux-Bacchi,Moglie Lequintrec,Rémi Salomon,Jacques Blouin,Bertrand Knebelmann,Jean-Pierre Grünfeld,Philippe Lesavre,Laure-Hélène Noël,Fadi Fakhouri +9 more
TL;DR: Constitutional or acquired dysregulation of the CAP is probably associated with a wide spectrum of diseases, ranging from HUS to glomerulonephritis C3 with MPGN.
