Linkages between soil organic carbon fractions and carbon-hydrolyzing enzyme activities across riparian zones in the Three Gorges of China

TL;DR: The results reveal that the LC is the tightest factor in regulating C-hydrolyzing enzyme activities, whereas the soil C quality (i.e. RIC) and flooding collectively drive C-Hydrolyzed enzyme activities possibly by affecting decomposition rates of SOC in the riparian zones.
Journal ArticleDOI

Giant enhancements in electronic transport and photoelectric properties of bismuth oxysulfide by pressure-driven 2D–3D structural reconstruction

TL;DR: In this paper, the buckling effects of layered bismuth oxysulfide Bi9O7.5S6 on a 3D network structure were investigated and the layer and bonding distances between and within BiO and BiS layer changed dramatically, which drove the enhancements of electric conductivity by 6 orders of magnitude, increasing the photocurrent by 4 orders of magnitudes, and significant narrowing down of band gap from 1.34 eV to 0.45 eV.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of China's terrestrial carbon sequestration 2010–2060 in offsetting energy-related CO2 emissions

TL;DR: Li et al. as discussed by the authors assessed China's terrestrial carbon sequestration over 2010-2060 and its contribution to offsetting national energy-related CO2 emissions and put forward future needs in the context of carbon neutrality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of sintering pressure on the crystallization and mechanical properties of BN-MAS composite ceramics

TL;DR: In this paper, a type of hexagonal boron nitride-magnesium aluminosilicate composite ceramics was fabricated by hot-pressed sintering under different pressures.

Simple curl-curl-conforming finite elements in two dimensions

TL;DR: Three families of curl-curl conforming finite elements are constructed in two space dimensions, two of which contain two existing families and demonstrate the convergence and efficiency of the elements for solving the quad- curl problem.
