Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of 67 Histone Marks and Histone Lysine Crotonylation as a New Type of Histone Modification

TL;DR: The identification of 67 previously undescribed histone modifications is reported, increasing the current number of known histone marks by about 70%, and lysine crotonylation (Kcr) is investigated, confirming that it represents an evolutionarily-conserved histone posttranslational modification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Copper and zinc induction of lipid peroxidation and effects on antioxidant enzyme activities in the microalga Pavlova viridis (Prymnesiophyceae).

TL;DR: Results suggest that an activation of some antioxidant enzymes was enhanced to counteract the oxidative stress induced by the two metals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tyrosinase inhibitory constituents from the roots of Morus nigra: a structure-activity relationship study.

TL;DR: One new compound, 5'-geranyl-5,7,2',4'-tetrahydroxyflavone, and twenty-eight known phenolic compounds were isolated, showing a great potential for their development as effective natural tyrosinase inhibitors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural basis for halogenation by iron- and 2-oxo-glutarate-dependent enzyme WelO5

TL;DR: A 2.4-A-resolution X-ray crystal structure of the carrier-protein-independent halogenase WelO5 in complex with its welwitindolinone precursor substrate, 12-epi-fischerindole U, reveals that the C13 chlorination target is proximal to the anticipated site of the oxo group in a presumptive cis-halo-oxo-iron(IV) (haloferryl) intermediate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biosynthesis of ambiguine indole alkaloids in cyanobacterium Fischerella ambigua.

TL;DR: A 42 kbp ambiguine (amb) biosynthetic gene cluster that harbors 32 protein-coding genes in its native producer Fischerella ambigua UTEX1903 is identified and suggests late-stage C-H activations are likely responsible for the structural diversities of ambiguines by regio- and stereospecific chlorination, hydroxylation, epoxidation, and sp(2)-sp(3) C-C bond formation.
