Journal ArticleDOI

Differential effects on motorcortical inhibition induced by blockade of GABA uptake in humans

TL;DR: In vivo evidence of differential modulation of cortical inhibition by blockade of GABA uptake is provided, suggesting that presynaptic GABA autoreceptors may be involved in modulating cortical inhibition in the human motor cortex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Histopathological Findings in Brain Tissue Obtained during Epilepsy Surgery.

Ingmar Blümcke, +74 more
TL;DR: In patients with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy requiring surgery, hippocampal sclerosis was the most common histopathological diagnosis among adults, and focal cortical dysplasia was the second most common lesion in both groups.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduced striatal dopamine transporters in idiopathic rapid eye movement sleep behaviour disorder. Comparison with Parkinson's disease and controls.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that [123I]IPT-SPECT is a useful diagnostic tool in RBD and that reduced striatal dopamine transporters may be a pathophysiological mechanism of idiopathic RBD.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of EEG in epilepsy: a critical review.

TL;DR: Although surface EEG recordings are less sensitive than invasive studies, they provide the best overview and the most efficient way to define the approximate localization of the epileptogenic zone, and should be used only after exhaustive noninvasive evaluations have failed to localize the epileptic zone.
