A SUMOylation-defective MITF germline mutation predisposes to melanoma and renal carcinoma

Corine Bertolotto, +98 more
- 01 Dec 2011 -
TL;DR: A germline missense substitution in MITF (Mi-E318K) is identified that occurred at a significantly higher frequency in genetically enriched patients affected with melanoma, RCC or both cancers, when compared with controls and provides insights into the link between SUMOylation, transcription and cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

'Agranular CD4+ CD56+ hematodermic neoplasm' (blastic NK-cell lymphoma) originates from a population of CD56+ precursor cells related to plasmacytoid monocytes.

TL;DR: It is proposed that oncogenic transformation of NCAM-expressing plasmacytoid monocyte-like cells may lead to “agranular CD4+ CD56+ hematodermic neoplasm” and a rare population of cells that is identified in the peripheral blood of healthy volunteers treated with Flt3 ligand is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primary Cutaneous Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, Leg Type: Clinicopathologic Features and Prognostic Analysis in 60 Cases

TL;DR: Primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, leg type is a distinct entity with a poor prognosis, particularly in patients with multiple tumors on the legs, but the prognosis could be improved with combinations of anthracycline-containing chemotherapies and rituximab.
Journal ArticleDOI

CD4+ CD56+ Cutaneous Neoplasms: A Distinct Hematological Entity?

TL;DR: Seven cases of particular cutaneous tumors selected from the register of the French Study Group on Cutaneous Lymphomas seem to represent a distinct entity likely developed from hematological precursor cells, although CD4 and CD56 are not specific for T or natural killer lineages.
