Interfacial Strain Gradients Control Nanoscale Domain Morphology in Epitaxial BiFeO3 Multiferroic Films
Daniel Sando,Mengjiao Han,Vivasha Govinden,Oliver Paull,Florian Appert,C. Carrétéro,J. Fischer,Agnès Barthélémy,Manuel Bibes,Vincent Garcia,Stéphane Fusil,Brahim Dkhil,Jean Juraszek,Yinlian Zhu,Xiuliang Ma,Valanoor Nagarajan +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the fractal-like-like domain structure in epitaxial bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) films is defined by the strain profile across the film-substrate interface, and that if uniform strain is maintained across the interface, characteristic striped domains are formed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electron energy loss spectroscopy determination of Ti oxidation state at the (001) LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface as a function of LaAlO3 growth conditions
Jean-Luc Maurice,Gervasi Herranz,Christian Colliex,Isabelle Devos,C. Carrétéro,Agnès Barthélémy,Karim Bouzehouane,Stéphane Fusil,Dominique Imhoff,Eric Jacquet,François Jomard,Dominique Ballutaud,Mario Basletić +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, electron energy loss'spectrum images', recorded in cross-section in a scanning transmission electron microscope, were used to analyse the Ti3+ ratio, characteristic of extra electrons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intrinsic polarization switching mechanisms in BiFeO 3
TL;DR: In this article, a first-principles-based effective Hamiltonian technique is used to investigate the polarization switching mechanisms in two polymorphic phases of BiFeO having no defects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studying the effect of a charged surface on the interaction of bleomycin with DNA using an atomic force microscope
Olivier Piétrement,David Pastré,Fabrice Landousy,Marie-Odile David,Stéphane Fusil,Loic Hamon,Alain Zozime,Eric Le Cam +7 more
TL;DR: This work deals with the effect that adsorbing DNA onto a positively- or negatively-charged surface has on the double-strand cleavage of DNA by Fe(III)/bleomycin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Switchable two-dimensional electron gas based on ferroelectric Ca:SrTi O 3
Julien Bréhin,Felix Trier,Luis M. Vicente-Arche,Pierre Hemme,Paul Noël,Maxen Cosset-Cheneau,Jean-Philippe Attané,Laurent Vila,Anke Sander,Yann Gallais,Alain Sacuto,Brahim Dkhil,Vincent Garcia,Stéphane Fusil,Agnès Barthélémy,Maximilien Cazayous,Manuel Bibes +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, a "ferroelectric" 2DEG whose transport properties can be electrostatically switched in a nonvolatile way is presented. But, this modulation is volatile.
