Journal ArticleDOI
NRT1.1B is associated with root microbiota composition and nitrogen use in field-grown rice
Jingying Zhang,Yong-Xin Liu,Na Zhang,Bin Hu,Tao Jin,Haoran Xu,Yuan Qin,Pengxu Yan,Xiaoning Zhang,Xiaoxuan Guo,Jing Hui,Shouyun Cao,Xin Wang,Chao Wang,Hui Wang,Baoyuan Qu,Guangyi Fan,Lixing Yuan,Ruben Garrido-Oter,Chengcai Chu,Yang Bai +20 more
TL;DR: The links between plant genotype and root microbiota membership established in this study will inform breeding strategies to improve nitrogen use in crops and coordinate recruitment of the root microbiota to optimize nitrogen acquisition from soil.
Journal ArticleDOI
The structure and function of the global citrus rhizosphere microbiome.
Jin Xu,Yunzeng Zhang,Yunzeng Zhang,Pengfan Zhang,Pankaj Trivedi,Nadia Riera,Yayu Wang,Xin Liu,Guangyi Fan,Ji-Liang Tang,Helvécio D. Coletta-Filho,Jaime Cubero,Xiaoling Deng,Veronica Ancona,Zhanjun Lu,Balian Zhong,M. Caroline Roper,Nieves Capote,Vittoria Catara,Gerhard Pietersen,Christian Vernière,Abdullah M. Al-Sadi,Lei Li,Fan Yang,Xun Xu,Jian Wang,Huanming Yang,Tao Jin,Nian Wang +28 more
TL;DR: A comprehensive analysis of the structural and functional composition of the citrus rhizosphere microbiome is reported, using both amplicon and deep shotgun metagenomic sequencing of samples collected across six continents to help guide microbial isolation and culturing and to harness the power of the microbiome to improve plant production and health.
Journal ArticleDOI
Taxonomic structure and functional association of foxtail millet root microbiome.
Tao Jin,Yayu Wang,Yueying Huang,Jin Xu,Pengfan Zhang,Nian Wang,Xin Liu,Haiyan Chu,Guang Liu,Honggang Jiang,Yuzhen Li,Jing Xu,Karsten Kristiansen,Liang Xiao,Yunzeng Zhang,Gengyun Zhang,Guohua Du,Houbao Zhang,Hongfeng Zou,Zhang Haifeng,Zhuye Jie,Suisha Liang,Huijue Jia,Jingwang Wan,Dechun Lin,Jinying Li,Guangyi Fan,Huanming Yang,Jian Wang,Yang Bai,Xun Xu +30 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrated that host plants enrich specific bacteria and functions in the rhizoplane in foxtail millet root bacterial community, and may serve as a valuable knowledge foundation for bio-fertilizer development in agriculture.
Journal ArticleDOI
MR Imaging of the Amide-Proton Transfer Effect and the pH-Insensitive Nuclear Overhauser Effect at 9.4 T
TL;DR: It is shown that the asymmetry of magnetization transfer contrast from immobile macromolecules is highly significant, and the wide spectral separation associated with a high magnetic field of 9.4 T delineates APT and NOE peaks in a Z‐spectrum.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genesis, Evolution and Prevalence of H5N6 Avian Influenza Viruses in China
Yuhai Bi,Quanjiao Chen,Qianli Wang,Jianjun Chen,Tao Jin,Gary Wong,Chuansong Quan,Jun Liu,Jun Wu,Renfu Yin,Lihua Zhao,Mingxin Li,Zhuang Ding,Rongrong Zou,Wen Xu,Hong Li,Huijun Wang,Kegong Tian,Guanghua Fu,Yu Huang,Alexander Shestopalov,Shoujun Li,Bing Xu,Hongjie Yu,Tingrong Luo,Lin Lu,Xun Xu,Yang Luo,Yingxia Liu,Weifeng Shi,Di Liu,George F. Gao +31 more
TL;DR: Phylogenetic analysis reveals that H5N6 arose from reassortments of H5 and H6N6 viruses, with the hemagglutinin and neuraminidase combinations being strongly lineage specific.
