Journal ArticleDOI

A transforming KIF5B and RET gene fusion in lung adenocarcinoma revealed from whole-genome and transcriptome sequencing

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a subset of NSCLCs could be caused by a fusion of KIF5B and RET, and suggested the chimeric oncogene as a promising molecular target for the personalized diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-Dimensional Human Alveolar Stem Cell Culture Models Reveal Infection Response to SARS-CoV-2.

TL;DR: This study develops a feeder-free, long-term three-dimensional culture technique for hAT2 cells derived from primary human lung tissue, and investigates infection response to SARS-CoV-2, revealing rapid viral replication and the increased expression of interferon-associated genes and pro-inflammatory genes in infected hat2 cells, indicating robust endogenous innate immune response.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bias in microRNA functional enrichment analysis.

TL;DR: It is shown that the most commonly used functional enrichment test is inappropriate for the analysis of sets of genes targeted by miRNAs, and is argued against continued use of the standard functional enrichment method for miRNA targets.
