Bandgap opening in graphene induced by patterned hydrogen adsorption
Richard Balog,Bjarke Jørgensen,Louis Nilsson,Mie Andersen,E. D. L. Rienks,Marco Bianchi,Mattia Fanetti,Erik Lægsgaard,Alessandro Baraldi,Alessandro Baraldi,Silvano Lizzit,Zeljko Sljivancanin,Flemming Besenbacher,Bjørk Hammer,Thomas Garm Pedersen,Philip Hofmann,Liv Hornekær +16 more
TL;DR: The existence of a bandgap opening in graphene is demonstrated, induced by the patterned adsorption of atomic hydrogen onto the Moiré superlattice positions of graphene grown on an Ir(111) substrate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bioinspired molecular co-catalysts bonded to a silicon photocathode for solar hydrogen evolution
Yidong Hou,Billie Abrams,Peter Christian Kjærgaard Vesborg,Mårten E. Björketun,Konrad Herbst,Lone Bech,Alessandro M. Setti,Christian Danvad Damsgaard,Thomas Garm Pedersen,Ole Hansen,Jan Rossmeisl,Søren Dahl,Jens K. Nørskov,Jens K. Nørskov,Ib Chorkendorff +14 more
TL;DR: It is shown that bioinspired molecular clusters based on molybdenum and sulphur evolve hydrogen at rates comparable to that of platinum, and the current densities at the reversible potential match the requirement of a photoelectrochemical hydrogen production system with a solar-to-hydrogen efficiency in excess of 10%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Graphene antidot lattices: designed defects and spin qubits.
Thomas Garm Pedersen,Christian Flindt,Christian Flindt,Jesper Pedersen,Niels Asger Mortensen,Antti-Pekka Jauho,Antti-Pekka Jauho,Kjeld Møller Pedersen +7 more
TL;DR: A detailed study of the energetics of periodic graphene antidot lattices is presented, the level structure of a single defect is analyzed, the exchange coupling between a pair of spin qubits is calculated, and possible avenues for further developments are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using TiO2 as a Conductive Protective Layer for Photocathodic H2 Evolution
Brian Seger,Thomas Garm Pedersen,Anders B. Laursen,Peter Christian Kjærgaard Vesborg,Ole Hansen,Ib Chorkendorff +5 more
TL;DR: This work shows that a sputtered 100 nm TiO( 2) layer on top of a thin Ti metal layer may be used to protect an n(+)p Si photocathode during photocatalytic H(2) evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mean-field theory of photoinduced formation of surface reliefs in side-chain azobenzene polymers
TL;DR: In this article, a mean-field model of photoinduced surface reliefs in dye containing side-chain polymers is presented, and it is demonstrated that photoinduced ordering of dye molecules subject to anisotropic intermolecular interactions leads to mass transport even when the intensity of the incident light is spatially uniform.
