Journal ArticleDOI

Mucosa-associated microbiota dysbiosis in colitis associated cancer.

TL;DR: This study confirms the alteration of the mucosa-associated bacterial microbiota in IBD and SC, and is the first evidence of the existence of an alteredacterial microbiota in CAC clearly different from the one in SC patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microorganisms linked to inflammatory bowel disease-associated dysbiosis differentially impact host physiology in gnotobiotic mice.

TL;DR: Analysis of host–microbiota interactions in mice that were mono-associated with six microorganisms that are representative of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)-associated dysbiosis reveals that microorganisms with a potential role in intestinal homeostasis and inflammation have specific impacts on the host, and suggests several tracks to follow to understand intestinal homestasis and IBD pathogenesis better.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gut fungal microbiota: the Yin and Yang of inflammatory bowel disease

TL;DR: Understanding of the fungal microbiota composition and its impact on IBD has greatly increased in the past 8 years and special attention was paid to the various effects of this microbial community on the IBD, i.e., the mechanisms and immune pathways involved in these interactions.
