Journal ArticleDOI
Palladium-catalyzed carbonylation of halo arene-cis-dihydrodiols to the corresponding carboxylates. Access to compounds unavailable by toluene dioxygenase-mediated dihydroxylation of the corresponding benzoate esters
TL;DR: A series of arene-cis-dihydrodiol carboxylates was prepared by palladium-catalyzed carbonylation of (1S, 2S- cis)-3-iodo-3,5-cyclohexadiene-1,2-diol, which is obtained in high titers by enzymatic dihydroxylation of iodobenzene.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Quest for a Practical Synthesis of Morphine Alkaloids and Their Derivatives by Chemoenzymatic Methods
Josephine W. Reed,Tomas Hudlicky +1 more
TL;DR: The use of blocked mutants of Pseudomonas putida (Pp39D) for the production of arene-cis-dihydrodiols was introduced by Kwart et al. as discussed by the authors.
Book ChapterDOI
Environmentally Efficient Management of Aromatic Compounds: Economic Perspectives of Biocatalytic Conversion of Aromatics to Optically Pure Synthons for the Pharmaceutical Industry
Journal ArticleDOI
Selectivity in [2+3] and [4+3] annulations. Cope rearrangement of (silyloxy)divinylcyclopropane systems leading to functionalized bicyclo[3.2.n]alkenyl derivatives
Tomas Hudlicky,Phuoc V. Nguyen +1 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Repetition of chemistry from a recently retracted paper. A cautionary note
TL;DR: In this article, the base-catalyzed condensation reaction between (E)-4-phenylbut-2-enal and phenylpropargyl aldehyde recently reported in the literature to provide formylcyclobutadiene was repeated under the published conditions.
