Insight into naturally-charged Highly Oxidized Molecules (HOMs) in the boreal forest

TL;DR: In this article, the role of the naturally charged highly oxidised molecules (HOMs) in the boreal forest was investigated using an Atmospheric Pressure interface Time-Of-Flight mass spectrometer (APi-TOF).
Proceedings ArticleDOI

The Effect of Particle Size, Composition, and Shape on Lidar Backscattering

TL;DR: In this article, the optical properties of urban aerosol particles are calculated using exact methods at 910 nm wavelength under different assumptions about particle composition and shape, and the results show that spherical particles backscatter light on the average about 40 percent more than the corresponding nonspherical particles, the difference generally being larger for larger particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamics of aerosol, humidity, and clouds in air masses travelling over Fennoscandian boreal forests

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the effect of the boreal forest environment on cloud-related properties during the growing season and found that the properties of air masses with short land transport times, thereby less influenced by the forest, differed from those exposed to the forest environment for a longer period.
