Journal ArticleDOI

Fos immunoreactivity after stimulation or inhibition of muscarinic receptors indicates anatomical specificity for cholinergic control of striatal efferent neurons and cortical neurons in the rat

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors looked for the appearance of immunoreactivity to Fos, a regulatory protein that is thought to convert synaptic signals into changes in gene expression, in the striatum and forebrain of the rat.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of the charged particle multiplicity distribution in hadronic Z decays

D. Decamp, +399 more
- 12 Dec 1991 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the charged particle multiplicity distribution of hadronic Z decays using the ALEPH detector at LEP and found that the distribution has a mean 〈n〉=20.85± 0.24 and a dispersion D=6.34±0.12.
Journal ArticleDOI

Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) gene expression in the human brain: A post mortem in situ hybridization study with special reference to Parkinson's disease

TL;DR: The data suggest that GDNF is probably expressed at a very low level in the adult human brain and its involvement in the pathophysiology of Parkinson's disease remains to be demonstrated, however, GDNF may represent a powerful new therapeutic agent for Parkinson's Disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

A framework for the calculation of the ΔNγ⁎ transition form factors on the lattice

TL;DR: In this article, a non-relativistic effective field theory framework for the extraction of the Δ N γ ⁎ transition form factors from lattice data is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Levodopa induces a cytoplasmic localization of D1 dopamine receptors in striatal neurons in Parkinson's disease.

TL;DR: The quantitative analysis performed at the ultrastructural level in patients with Parkinson's disease revealed an increase in immunostaining in the cytoplasm of medium-sized neurons, the result of the treatment rather than the dopaminergic denervation.
