Dynamics of poles in two-dimensional hydrodynamics with free surface: new constants of motion

TL;DR: In this paper, the potential motion of an ideal incompressible fluid with a free surface and infinite depth in a two-dimensional geometry was studied and the existence of non-trivial constants of motion provided an argument in support of complete integrability of free surface hydrodynamics in deep water.

Soliton on Unstable Condensate

TL;DR: In this article, the focusing Nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation (NLSE) soliton propagating on an unstable condensate was constructed and applied to the description of freak (rogue) waves in the ocean and in optical fibers.
Journal ArticleDOI

How probability for freak wave formation can be found

TL;DR: In this paper, the statistics of the emergence of freak waves on a surface of an ideal heavy fluid is studied, where the freak waves arise during the evolution of statistically homogeneous initial conditions with a Gaussian probability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spontaneous breaking of the spatial homogeneity symmetry in wave turbulence.

TL;DR: A surprising new result is reported for wave turbulence, where the nature of the statistical attractor changes dramatically, from a sea of resonantly interacting dispersive waves to an ensemble of coherent radiating pulses.
