TL;DR: Estimating causes of pneumonia in young African and Asian children, using novel analytical methods applied to clinical and microbiological findings, estimated that viruses accounted for 61·4% (95% credible interval [CrI] 57·3–65·6) of causes, whereas bacteria accounted for 27·3% (23·3-31·6).
Journal ArticleDOI
Ipilimumab plus nivolumab and DNA-repair defects in AR-V7-expressing metastatic prostate cancer.
Karim Boudadi,Daniel L. Suzman,Valsamo Anagnostou,Wei Fu,Brandon Luber,Hao Wang,Noushin Niknafs,James R. White,John L. Silberstein,Rana Sullivan,Donna Dowling,Rana Harb,Thomas R. Nirschl,Brendan A. Eshleman,Jun Luo,Victor E. Velculescu,Charles G. Drake,Emmanuel S. Antonarakis +28 more
TL;DR: Ipilimumab plus nivolumab demonstrated encouraging efficacy in AR-V7-positive prostate cancers with DRD mutations, but not in the overall study population.
Journal ArticleDOI
CDK12-altered prostate cancer: Clinical features and therapeutic outcomes to standard systemic therapies, poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors, and PD-1 inhibitors
Emmanuel S. Antonarakis,Pedro Isaacsson Velho,Wei Fu,Hao Wang,Neeraj Agarwal,Victor Sacristan Santos,Benjamin L. Maughan,Roberto Pili,Nabil Adra,Cora N. Sternberg,Panagiotis J. Vlachostergios,Scott T. Tagawa,Alan H. Bryce,Andrea McNatty,Zachery R. Reichert,Robert Dreicer,Oliver Sartor,Tamara L. Lotan,Maha Hussain +18 more
TL;DR: CDK12-altered prostate cancer is an aggressive subtype with poor outcomes to hormonal and taxane therapies as well as to PARP inhibitors, which implicates CDK12 deficiency in immunotherapy sensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanoparticle interactions with immune cells dominate tumor retention and induce T cell–mediated tumor suppression in models of breast cancer
Preethi Korangath,James D. Barnett,Anirudh Sharma,Elizabeth Henderson,Jacqueline Stewart,Shu Han Yu,Sri Kamal Kandala,Chun Ting Yang,Chun Ting Yang,Julia S. Caserto,Mohammad Hedayati,Todd D. Armstrong,Elizabeth M. Jaffee,Cordula Gruettner,Xian C. Zhou,Wei Fu,Chen Hu,Saraswati Sukumar,Brian W. Simons,Robert Ivkov +19 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that immune status of the host and microenvironment of solid tumors are critical variables for studies in cancer nanomedicine and that nanoparticle technology may harbor potential for cancer immunotherapy.

TL;DR: Upper airway pneumococcal colonization density among children hospitalized with World Health Organization–defined pneumonia was associated with microbiologically confirmed pneumococCal pneumonia (MCPP) and the optimal colonization density threshold was ≥7 log10 copies/mL.
