Alteration of the magnetosphere of the Vela pulsar during a glitch
TL;DR: Single-pulse radio observations of a glitch in the Vela pulsar show sudden changes in the pulse shape coincident with the glitch, indicating that the glitch could affect the pulsar’s magnetosphere.
Journal ArticleDOI
An ultra-wide bandwidth (704 to 4 032 MHz) receiver for the Parkes radio telescope

Smith,Stephanie Smith,Charlotte Sobey,Lister Staveley-Smith,Anastasios Tzioumis,Willem van Straten,Nina Wang,Linqing Wen,Matthew Whiting +73 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe an ultra-widebandwidth, low-frequency receiver recently installed on the Parkes radio telescope, which provides continuous frequency coverage from 704 to 4032 MHz.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Parkes Pulsar Timing Array project: Second data release
Matthew Kerr,Daniel J. Reardon,George Hobbs,Ryan Shannon,Richard N. Manchester,Shi Dai,Christopher J. Russell,Songbo Zhang,Willem van Straten,Stefan Oslowski,Aditya Parthasarathy,Renée Spiewak,Matthew Bailes,N. D. Ramesh Bhat,Andrew Cameron,William A. Coles,James Dempsey,Xinping Deng,B. TL;DR: 14 yr of public data from the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array is described, an ongoing project that is producing precise measurements of pulse times of arrival from 26 millisecond pulsars using the 64-m Parkes radio telescope with a cadence of approximately 3 weeks in three observing bands.
Journal ArticleDOI
Constraints on the magnetic field in the Galactic halo from globular cluster pulsars
Federico Abbate,Federico Abbate,Andrea Possenti,Andrea Possenti,Caterina Tiburzi,Caterina Tiburzi,Ewan Barr,Willem van Straten,Alessandro Ridolfi,Alessandro Ridolfi,Paulo C. C. Freire +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an unexpected large gradient in the component of the magnetic field parallel to the line of sight of the Galactic disk has been found, which could be explained by magnetic fields amplified to some 60μG within the globular cluster 47 Tucanae.
