Fengrui Hu,Fengrui Hu,Suprem R. Das,Yilong Luan,Yilong Luan,Ting-Fung Chung,Yong P. Chen,Zhe Fei,Zhe Fei +8 more
TL;DR: This work unveils the tailored plasmonic characteristics of TBLG and deepens the understanding of the intriguing nano-optical physics in novel van der Waals coupled two-dimensional materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Imaging the Localized Plasmon Resonance Modes in Graphene Nanoribbons.
Fengrui Hu,Yilong Luan,Zhe Fei,Igor Palubski,Michael Goldflam,Michael Goldflam,Siyuan Dai,Jhih-Sheng Wu,Kirk Post,G. C. A. M. Janssen,Michael M. Fogler,Dimitri Basov,Dimitri Basov +12 more
TL;DR: A nanoinfrared imaging study of the localized plasmon resonance modes of graphene nanoribbons using a scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscope (s-SNOM), which indicates that the asymmetric fringes are formed due to the interplay between the localized surface plAsmon resonance (SPR) mode excited by the GNRs and the propagative surfaceplasmon polariton (SPP) mode launched by the s- SNOM tip.
Journal ArticleDOI
Imaging propagative exciton polaritons in atomically thin WSe 2 waveguides
Fengrui Hu,Fengrui Hu,Yilong Luan,Jacob Speltz,D. Zhong,C. H. Liu,Jiaqiang Yan,Jiaqiang Yan,D. G. Mandrus,D. G. Mandrus,Xiaodong Xu,Zhe Fei +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the transverse-electric exciton polaritons in atomically thin WSe${}_{2}$ nanoflakes were studied using a scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscope excited by an $s$-polarized laser.
Journal ArticleDOI
Near-field spectroscopic investigation of dual-band heavy fermion metamaterials
Stephanie N. Gilbert Corder,Xinzhong Chen,Shaoqing Zhang,Fengrui Hu,Jiawei Zhang,Yilong Luan,Jack A. Logan,Thomas Ciavatti,Hans A. Bechtel,Michael C. Martin,M. C. Aronson,Hiroyuki Suzuki,Hiroyuki Suzuki,Shin-ichi Kimura,T. Iizuka,Zhe Fei,Keiichiro Imura,Noriaki K. Sato,Tiger H. Tao,Tiger H. Tao,Mengkun Liu +20 more
TL;DR: An innovative way to tailor band-selective electromagnetic responses at the surface of a heavy fermion compound, samarium sulfide (SmS), is demonstrated, which represents a paradigm shift for nanoscale metamaterial and metasurface design.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tailored Plasmons in Pentacene/Graphene Heterostructures with Interlayer Electron Transfer.
Fengrui Hu,Minsung Kim,Yongheng Zhang,Yilong Luan,Kai-Ming Ho,Yi Shi,Cai-Zhuang Wang,Xin Wang,Zhe Fei +8 more
TL;DR: A nano-plasmonic study of vdW heterostructures that were produced by depositing ordered molecular layers of pentacene on top of graphene finds that surface plasmons formed due to the collective oscillations of Dirac fermions in graphene are highly sensitive to the adjacentpentacene layers.
