Journal ArticleDOI

Luminescent solar concentration with semiconductor nanorods and transfer-printed micro-silicon solar cells.

TL;DR: An efficient luminescence trapping structure is designed that should allow the luminescent concentrator based on CdSe/CdS nanorods to operate in the high-concentration regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantum Dot Luminescent Concentrator Cavity Exhibiting 30-fold Concentration

TL;DR: In this article, a photonic mirror was coupled with a luminescent waveguide to form an optical cavity where emitted luminescence was trapped omnidirectionally, and 82% of luminesced photons traveled the length of the waveguide, creating a concentration ratio of 30.3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Roadmap on optical energy conversion

TL;DR: A recent roadmap on optical energy conversion provides a snapshot of the state of the art, remaining challenges, and most promising approaches to address these challenges as mentioned in this paper, where leading experts authored 19 focused short sections where they share their vision on a specific aspect of this burgeoning research field.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced Photon Collection in Luminescent Solar Concentrators with Distributed Bragg Reflectors

TL;DR: In this paper, a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) was proposed to reuse the escaped luminescence at the front surface by utilizing a photonic band-stop filter that reflects photons in the luminophore's emission range while transmitting those in its absorption range.
