TL;DR: It is demonstrated that over a one-letter alphabet, these languages are always regular, while Boolean LL subsets of Σ∗a∗ obey a certain periodicity property, which makes the language {anb2n|n⩾0} non-representable.

TL;DR: In this article, the physicist participates when constructing and when applying the theory consisting of the formulated formal and measurement criteria (the expressions and rules) providing the necessary conditions which allow him to compute and measure facts, yet retains objectivity by requiring that these criteria, rules and facts be in corroborative equilibrium.
Abstract: The ''measurement problem'' of contemporary physics is met by recognizing that the physicist participates when constructing and when applying the theory consisting of the formulated formal and measurement criteria (the expressions and rules) providing the necessary conditions which allow him to compute and measure facts, yet retains objectivity by requiring that these criteria, rules and facts be in corroborative equilibrium We construct the particulate states of quantum physics by a recursive program which incorporates the non-determinism born of communication between asynchronous processes over a shared memory Their quantum numbers and coupling constants arise from the construction via the unique 4-level combinatorial hierarchy The construction defines indivisible quantum events with the requisite supraluminal correlations, yet does not allow supraluminal communication Measurement criteria incorporate c, h-bar, and m/sub p/ or (not ''and'') G The resulting theory is discrete throughout, contains no infinities, and, as far as we have developed it, is in agreement with quantum mechanical and cosmological fact

TL;DR: The paper examines the role played by the scientific journal in the citation process by comparing characteristics of journals which publish the articles cited and those which cite them and investigates how these factors relate to accumulation of citations.
Abstract: The paper examines the role played by the scientific journal in the citation process. It compares characteristics of journals which publish the articles cited and those which cite them. It pays attention to the regional location, degrees of specialization, and visibility of journals and investigates how these factors relate to accumulation of citations. The data consist of a subsample of Nordic cardiovascular research articles, published in 1981, and of the articles citing them until early 1988.

TL;DR: Schumpeter wrote that a "scientific" economist is competent in three "techniques": economic theory, economic history, and statistics as discussed by the authors, and he mentions economic sociology.
Abstract: Schumpeter wrote that a “scientific” economist is competent in three “techniques”: economic theory, economic history, and statistics. In addition, he mentions economic sociology. The current interpretation is that theory, history, and statistics refer to aspects of research that can emerge in any field of science. Their content and relations can be clarified with Mach's writings. Economic sociology is not a technique within economics, but a part of general sociology. The rationale of economic and general sociology becomes clear by considering Schumpeter's interpretations of Marx's ideas. Schumpeter's ultimate ambition may have been a grand theory following Marx's vision.

08 Apr 2013TL;DR: Anechoic chamber and fading emulator based multi-probe techniques have been widely investigated as a method for MIMO-OTA testing as discussed by the authors, where probes are placed on the horizontal plane on a circle around the test zone.
Abstract: Many different multiple-input multiple-output over-the-air (MIMO-OTA) test methods have been investigated for the terminal performance evaluation, which vary in their propagation channel characteristics, cost, and size. Anechoic chamber and fading emulator based multi-probe techniques have been widely investigated as a method for MIMO-OTA testing. In such system several probes are placed around the device under test (DUT). This paper investigates related uncertainties associated with multi-probe systems particularly 2-D multi-probe systems where probes are placed on the horizontal plane on a circle around the test zone.
