21 Oct 2008TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed knowledge sharing in team performance with the mediated effect of knowledge integration in technology R&D teams and found that knowledge sharing positively affects team performance and mediates the relationship between knowledge sharing and team performance.
Abstract: R&D teams develop new techniques and products to raise organizational competitiveness. Thus, understanding how R&D teams perform successfully is the emphasis of this study. The contribution of knowledge sharing is direct when it helps to solve problems in teams. Furthermore, shared knowledge needs to be integrated with memberspsila own knowledge bases when performing R&D tasks. This study analyzes knowledge sharing in team performance with the mediated effect of knowledge integration in technology R&D teams. Our research model is assessed using data from a sample of 100 members of 60 technology R&D teams and is analyzed using partial least squares (PLS) method. The results of this study indicate: (1) Knowledge sharing positively affects team performance in technology R&D teams. (2) Knowledge integration mediates the relationship between knowledge sharing and team performance in technology R&D teams. This study discusses implications for the technology R&D teams based on the results of this study.

24 Aug 2007TL;DR: This research result supports the view of cross-competition but not diversity loss when considering uniform coding redundancy with expressive elitism and the tolerance of infeasible solutions in genetic algorithm's overrepresentation and multi-explanation.
Abstract: Genetic algorithm's approach has been one of the most important optimization techniques though the related problems of selection pressure still exist. Diversity is the key issue. For this reason, we explored the implication of redundancy in both genetic algorithm's overrepresentation and multi-explanation. Our research result supports the view of cross-competition but not diversity loss when considering uniform coding redundancy with expressive elitism and the tolerance of infeasible solutions. On the other side, we developed new decoding procedure based on the inborn searchability of the small world. In designing the network of the reverse logistics having multiple lower-dimensional constraints, with the help of multiple overlapped fitness functions, the performance of genetic algorithms can truly be improved.

TL;DR: It is shown that on-site rework may be beneficial to the supply chain even if it is more costly than in-house rework, i.e. rework performed at the manufacturer’s production site, and the similarities and differences of the effects of QS and QR on the coordinated results are shown.

01 May 2017TL;DR: An intuitive manipulation method for smart home system, called “over-the-Air Manipulation System,” that will convert the control gestures to manipulation information and transmit it to the smart home appliance via wireless network is designed and implemented.
Abstract: In this paper, we design and implement an intuitive manipulation method for smart home system, called “over-the-Air Manipulation System.” It is used to improve the operation inconvenience of smart home system. We exploit the two components of smart glasses, display screen and camera, to capture the user's control gestures and display the information of smart home appliance. Moreover, the system will convert the control gestures to manipulation information and transmit it to the smart home appliance via wireless network. In the experimental results, we successfully use gestures to control the air conditioner and to turn on/off the light.

TL;DR: In this paper, major trace element and Sr-Nd isotopic data as well as Ar-Ar dating of these basalts were presented to discuss the petrogenesis of the basalts and identify the geological processes beneath the study area.
Abstract: Cenozoic (Miocene to Pleistocene) basaltic rocks in Jiangsu province of eastern China include olivine tholeiite and alkali basalt. We present major, trace element and Sr-Nd isotopic data as well as Ar-Ar dating of these basalts to discuss the petrogenesis of the basalts and identify the geological processes beneath the study area. On the basis of chemical compisitions and Ar-Ar dating of Cenonoic basaltic rocks from Jiangsu province, we suggest that these basalts may belong to the same magmatic system. The alkali basalts found in Jiangsu province have higher σFeO, MgO, CaO, Na2O, TiO2 and P2O5 and incompatible elements, but lower Al2O3 and compatible elements contents than olivine tholeiite which may be caused by fractional crystallization of olivine, pyroxene and minor plagioclase. In Jiangsu basaltic rocks the incompatible elements increase with decreasing MgO/σFeO ratios. The primitive mantle-normalized incompatible elements and chondrite-normalized REE patterns of basaltic rocks found in Jiangsu province are similar to those of OIB. Partial loss of the mantle Uthosphere accompanied by rising of asthenospheric mantle may accelerate the generation of the basaltic magma. The 143Nd/144Nd vs. 87Sr/86Sr plot indicates a mixing of a depleted asthenospheric mantle source and an EM1 component in the study area. According to Shaw's equation, the basalts from Jiangsu province may be formed by 1%–5% partial melting of a depleted asthenospheric mantle source. On the basis of Ar-Ar ages of this study and the fractional crystallization model proposed by Brooks and Nielsen (1982), we suggest that basalts from Jiangsu province may belong to a magmatic system with JF-2 as the primitive magma which has undergone fractional crystallization and evolved progressively to produce other types of basalts.
