TL;DR: The settlement problem is formed as a multi-stage game with incomplete information and a two-stage solution is developed by obtaining the capacity of Internet bandwidth and the expected total profit by using sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method.
Abstract: For providing end-to-end differentiated service, networks service providers need to interconnect with other service provider and hence such interconnection brings settle problems. Based on the differentiated service network architecture, the new challenges of the settlement problem are how to model the user's demand function and how to allocate the bandwidth resources between inter-domain and intra-domain users. The bandwidth allocation problem becomes more complicated. This paper formulates the settlement problem as a multi-stage game with incomplete information and develops a two-stage solution. In the first stage, we obtain the capacity of Internet bandwidth and the expected total profit by using sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method. In the second stage, continuing the statement regards as the adjustment method of settlement rate. According to the non-linearity and non-convexity of the objective function, we observe there are many Nash equilibrium points in the system. Therefore, the solution to the problem is not unique. Numerical analysis shows that ISP will judge the marginal profit from users and the other interconnected service provider to determine the bandwidth allocation.

TL;DR: It is indicated that the IL-1 signal mediates epilepsy-induced sleep disturbance, but dose not participate in kindling-induced epileptogenesis.
Abstract: Sleep disruptions are common in epilepsy patients. Our previous study demonstrates that homeostatic factors and circadian rhythm may mediate epilepsy-induced sleep disturbances when epilepsy occurs at different zeitgeber hours. The proinflammatory cytokine, interleukin-1 (IL-1), is a somnogenic cytokine and may also be involved in epileptogenesis; however, few studies emphasize the effect of IL-1 in epilepsy-induced sleep disruption. We herein hypothesized that IL-1 receptor type 1 (IL-1R1) mediates the pathogenesis of epilepsy and epilepsy-induced sleep disturbances. We determined the role of IL-1R1 by using IL-1R1 knockout (IL-1R1 −/− KO) mice. Our results elucidated the decrease of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep during the light period in IL-1R −/− mice and confirmed the somnogenic role of IL-1R1. Rapid electrical amygdala kindling was performed to induce epilepsy at the particular zeitgeber time (ZT) point, ZT13. Our results demonstrated that seizure thresholds induced by kindling stimuli, such as the after-discharge threshold and successful kindling rates, were not altered in IL-1R −/− mice when compared to those obtained from the wildtype mice (IL-1R +/+ mice). This result suggests that IL-1R1 is not involved in kindling-induced epileptogenesis. During sleep, ZT13 kindling stimulation significantly enhanced NREM sleep during the subsequent 6 h (ZT13-18) in wildtype mice, and sleep returned to the baseline the following day. However, the kindling-induced sleep alteration was absent in the IL-1R −/− KO mice. These results indicate that the IL-1 signal mediates epilepsy-induced sleep disturbance, but dose not participate in kindling-induced epileptogenesis.

TL;DR: A research framework has been formed via combining several data-mining methods, where clustering method is employed to generate the clusters, similarity measure is adopted to identify the variant patents, and association analysis is used to find out the rare topics.
Abstract: In order to recognize and evaluate the technology opportunities in an industry, a research framework has been formed via combining several data-mining methods, where clustering method is employed to generate the clusters, similarity measure is adopted to identify the variant patents, and association analysis is used to find out the rare topics. Patent data contains plentiful technological information from which it is worthwhile to extract further knowledge. Consequently, the variant patents were identified, the rare topics were found, and the technology opportunities for companies were recognized. Finally, the Google Scholar has been utilized to evaluate the recognized technology opportunities.

TL;DR: The proposed eye-tracking algorithms can provide a low-complexity solution with high accuracy, precision, and speed and can be used in headsets for virtual reality, auxiliary equipment, interactive machine, and human–machine interface applications.
Abstract: In this study, a head-mounted camera was used to track eye behaviors and estimate the gaze point on the user’s visual plane. The integration of the elastic mechanism design makes the headset adapta...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an endogenous growth model in which households display their social status by holding not only capital but also bonds, and they find that if government bonds constitute part of the wealth for households' quest for social status, the quest to social status decreases economic growth.
