TL;DR: A scheduling algorithm for multiple transmissions on different beams simultaneously that outperforms existing work in terms of network throughput and transmission guarantee is proposed.
Abstract: A host can simultaneously transmit or receipt multiple packets on different beams with smart antenna (or Multi-beam antenna) systems However, the host cannot transmit to its neighboring by one beam and receive from other neighboring by other beam at the same time Therefore, the transmission scheduling impacts the network performance With delay constraints of transmission, this paper aims to develop transmission scheduling approaches with smart antenna systems for maximizing the network throughput based on the cluster topology Initially, two approaches, named Sender-driven Parallel Transmission Procedure and Receiver-driven Parallel Transmission Procedure, build sets of parallel groups which are constructed for multi-beam smart antenna systems by the views of sender and receiver, respectively Then we propose a scheduling algorithm for multiple transmissions on different beams simultaneously The approaches also take the differences of transmission rate among simultaneous transmissions by one host into account Performance study reveals that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing work in terms of network throughput and transmission guarantee

TL;DR: A mobile navigation system based on the peer-to-peer (P2P) protocol that supports indoor and outdoor locations and enables a mobile user to download multimedia data from nearby users with similar interests is developed.
Abstract: With the many practical applications involving global positioning system (GPS) that have been devel- oped to date, location-based services have been receiving increased attention. Mobile users of a mobile navigation system want to retrieve useful or interesting information when they are located in the same area as such points of interest. However, such a system will be overloaded if the number of mobile users increases significantly. Therefore, this study developed a mobile navigation system based on the peer-to-peer (P2P) protocol that supports indoor and outdoor locations. The system enables a mobile user to download multimedia data from nearby users with similar interests. The experiment results show that multimedia data are efficiently transmitted by P2P in the system.

TL;DR: The parametric graded mean integration representation (PGMIR) for the interval type 2 fuzzy sets (IT2FS) is developed and can be served as the type reduced or defuzzification of an IT2FS.
Abstract: In this paper, we develop the parametric graded mean integration representation (PGMIR) for the interval type 2 fuzzy sets (IT2FS). The PGMIR value can be served as the type reduced or defuzzification of an IT2FS. A set of IT2FSs can then be ordered by the corresponding PGMIR values. Firstly, the parametric representation of the embedded fuzzy sets is defined for the general IT2FS. The IT2FS is characterized by the set of embedded fuzzy sets induced from the parametric function. Then, the graded mean integration representation (GMIR) of a type 1 fuzzy set (T1FS) is extended to the IT2FS through the parametric form of an IT2FS. The GMIR of the parametric embedded T1FS is defined and is called the PGMIR. In this manner, the IT2FSs are defuzzified and can be ranked by sorting the PGMIR values. The average value of the PGMIR is used to determine IT2FS ranking. A numerical example is presented to show that the proposed approach is superior to the ranking method from IT2FS centroid.

TL;DR: The proposed algorithm transforms the questionnaire data into a directed graph, and then applies association rules mining and clustering procedures, whose parameters are determined by gradient sensitivity analysis, as well as correlation analysis in turn to the graph, where both statistically significant and other cryptic events are successfully unveiled.
Abstract: A KeyGraph-like algorithm, which incorporates the concept of structural importance with association rules mining, for analyzing closed-ended questionnaire data is presented in this paper. The proposed algorithm transforms the questionnaire data into a directed graph, and then applies association rules mining and clustering procedures, whose parameters are determined by gradient sensitivity analysis, as well as correlation analysis in turn to the graph. As a result, both statistically significant and other cryptic events are successfully unveiled. A questionnaire survey data from an instructional design application has been analyzed by the proposed algorithm. Comparing to the results of statistical methods, which elicited almost no information, the proposed algorithm successfully identified three cryptic events and provided five different strategies for designing instructional activities. The preliminary experimental results indicated that the algorithm works out for analyzing closed-ended questionnaire survey data.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the relationships between the three variables "Corporate Cross-cultural Management", "Learning Organization" and "Organizational Performance" and found that the effect of the Learning Organization on the relation between corporate cross-cultural management and Organizational Performance was further studied and findings were discussed.
Abstract: The purpose in this study was to analyze the relationships between the three variables “Corporate Cross-cultural Management”, “Learning Organization”, and “Organizational Performance”. Valid questionnaires (793) were collected from the directors and staff of 250 multinationals in Suzhou Industrial Park of China. As a result of these analyses, the effect of the Learning Organization on the relation between Corporate Cross-cultural Management and Organizational Performance was further studied and findings were discussed.
