TL;DR: In this article, one chemosensors has demonstrated selectivity for Hg2+ by quenching the fluorescence intensity at 394 nm with enhancement at 460 nm.
Abstract: Chemosensors are prepared through a one pot, multicomponent organic synthesis and their activities are evaluated in a DMF:H2O (1:9, v/v) solvent system. One chemosensor has demonstrated selectivity for Hg2+ by quenching the fluorescence intensity at 394 nm with enhancement at 460 nm. Thus, the sensor offers an interesting opportunity for the ratiometric determination of Hg2+ in a semi aqueous solvent system with a detection limit of 0.2 μM. The resultant mercury complex of the same sensor is evaluated for anion recognition properties. The metal complex is highly selective for the determination of chloride in a semi aqueous medium through a counterion displacement assay.

01 Sep 2019TL;DR: A database for group level emotion recognition in videos containing 1,004 videos downloaded from the web and a baseline based on the Inception V3 network is proposed on the database.
Abstract: This paper proposes a database for group level emotion recognition in videos. The motivation is coming from the large number of information which the users are sharing online. This gives us the opportunity to use this perceived affect for various tasks. Most of the work in this area has been restricted to controlled environments. In this paper, we explore the group level emotion and cohesion in a real-world environment. There are several challenges involved in moving from a controlled environment to real-world scenarios such as face tracking limitations, illumination variations, occlusion and type of gatherings. As an attempt to address these challenges, we propose a ‘Video level Group AFfect (VGAF), database containing 1,004 videos downloaded from the web. The collected videos have a large variations in terms of gender, ethnicity, the type of social event, number of people, pose, etc. We have labelled our database for group level emotion and cohesion tasks and proposed a baseline based on the Inception V3 network on the database.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of concentration (ppm), average particle size and rotational speed on the slurry erosion behavior of these ceramic-coated steels under different experimental conditions was investigated.
Abstract: Slurry erosion performance of detonation gun (D-gun) spray ceramic coatings (Al2O3 and Al2O3–13TiO2) on CF8M steel has been investigated. Slurry collected from an actual hydro power plant was used as the abrasive media in a high speed erosion test rig. Attempt has been made to study the effect of concentration (ppm), average particle size and rotational speed on the slurry erosion behaviour of these ceramic-coated steels under different experimental conditions. The analysis of eroded samples was done using SEM, XRD and stylus profilometry. The slurry erosion performance of the D-gun spray Al2O3–13TiO2-coated steel has been found to be superior to that of Al2O3-coated steel. Both the coatings showed brittle fracture mechanism of material removal during the slurry erosion exposure.
