TL;DR: Quantitative chemical calculations in combination with experimental observations validate that the ipso amination of substituted boronic acids involves the formation of cyanamidyl/arylcyanamodyl radical, followed by regiospecific interaction of its nitrile-N center with boron atom of the boronal acids, leading to chemoselective primary amination.
Abstract: An efficient, metal and base-free, chemoselective synthesis of aryl-, heteroaryl-, and alkyl primary amines from the corresponding boronic acids has been achieved at ambient temperature mediated by [bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodo]benzene (PIFA) and N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) using cyanamidyl/arylcyanamidyl radicals as the aminating species. The primary amine compounds were initially obtained as their corresponding ammonium trifluoroacetate salts which, on treatment with aq NaOH, provide the free amines. Finally, the primary amines were isolated through column chromatography over silica-gel using hexane-EtOAc solvent system as the eluent. The reactions are sufficiently fast, completing within 1 h. Quantum chemical calculations in combination with experimental observations validate that the ipso amination of substituted boronic acids involves the formation of cyanamidyl/arylcyanamidyl radical, followed by regiospecific interaction of its nitrile-N center with boron atom of the boronic acids, leading to chemoselect...

TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical analysis for three dimensional Fourier heat diffusion equation by considering internal heat generation is proposed for estimation of thermo-physical properties of bone for identification of severity of osteoporosis.
Abstract: Infrared thermography is a full field, non-contact inexpensive, patient friendly and safe imaging modality for estimation of thermo-physical properties of various bio-materials. Among the widely used thermal wave imaging modalities, recently proposed frequency modulated thermal wave imaging technique gained importance due to its quantitative characterization capabilities along with its deeper subsurface visualization abilities. This work highlights a novel analytical analysis for three dimensional Fourier heat diffusion equation by considering internal heat generation. An aperiodic pulse compression favorable thermal wave imaging method is proposed for estimation of thermo-physical properties of bone for identification of severity of osteoporosis. Effect of osteoporosis on thermo-physical properties such as thermal effusivity and diffusivity has been studied. Further proposed analytical approach has been validated by results obtained from the commercially available finite element based COMSOL software.

TL;DR: This paper designs a threat and security model to resist attacks such as man-in-the-middle attacks in an organization scenario and uses the Ethereum blockchain platform and its smart contract functionalities to model user-resource communications.
Abstract: Since the last few decades, information security has become a significant challenge for organizations’ system administrators. However, the Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model has emerged as a viable solution for organizations to meet the security requirement due to its less administrative overhead. Blockchain technology is distributive and can be used effectively in user authentication and authorization challenges. This paper proposes an RBAC model using a blockchain-based smart contract for managing user-role permissions in the organization. We design a threat and security model to resist attacks such as man-in-the-middle attacks in an organization scenario. The proposed approach uses the Ethereum blockchain platform and its smart contract functionalities to model user-resource communications. The proposed method is tested on Ropsten Ethereum Test Network and evaluated to analyze user authentication, verification, cost, and security.

TL;DR: In this article, a single-cylinder stationary diesel engine at a constant speed of 1500 rpm for neat diesel and butanol/diesel blends (i.e., 10%, 20% and 30% butanol on volume basis) at different engine loads was used for measuring cylinder pressure data.
Abstract: In this study, combustion characteristics and nano-size soot particle emissions from a stationary conventional diesel engine have been experimentally investigated using butanol/diesel blends. Experiments were conducted on a single cylinder stationary diesel engine at a constant speed of 1500 rpm for neat diesel and butanol/diesel blends (i.e., 10%, 20% and 30% butanol on volume basis) at different engine loads. Piezoelectric pressure transducer installed in the engine combustion chamber was used for measuring cylinder pressure data. In-cylinder pressure data for 2000 consecutive engine cycles was recorded and averaged data was used for the analysis of combustion characteristics. Butanol/diesel blends show higher rate of heat release in comparison to neat diesel and heat release rate increases with butanol percentage in the blend. Opacity meter and exhaust particle sizer were used for analyzing smoke opacity, size and mass distributions of soot particles respectively at different engine operating conditions. Soot particle distribution from 5 nm to 1000 nm was recorded at each test condition. Results show that total particle concentration decreases with an increase in engine operating loads. It was found that butanol/diesel blends have lower total particulate concentration and the surface area.
