TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined three emerging Gulf markets examined in this paper, and found that correction for infrequent trading significantly alters the results of market efficiency and random walk tests, and the Beveridge-Nelson decomposition of index returns is done to estimate the underlying index.
Abstract: Inferences drawn from tests of market efficiency are rendered imprecise in the presence of infrequent trading. As the observed index in thinly traded markets may not represent the true underlying index value, there is a systematic bias toward rejecting the efficient market hypothesis. For the three emerging Gulf markets examined in this paper, correction for infrequent trading significantly alters the results of market efficiency and random walk tests. The Beveridge–Nelson (1981) decomposition of index returns is done to estimate the underlying index.

TL;DR: In this paper, two approaches for modelling the link between maintenance and quality are presented: the first approach is based on the concept of imperfect maintenance and the second one uses the Taguchi approach to quality and maintenance.
Abstract: Focuses on the relationship between maintenance and quality. Then briefly reviews models relating production and quality on the one hand, and production and maintenance on the other. Using concepts from predictive maintenance and the measure of equipment effectiveness from total productive maintenance (TPM), identifies explicit links between maintenance and quality. Emphasizes the need to develop adequate models relating maintenance and quality. Presents two approaches for modelling the link between maintenance and quality. The first approach is based on the concept of imperfect maintenance and the second one uses the Taguchi approach to quality and maintenance.

TL;DR: Gemini surfactants are a group of novel surfactant with more than one hydrophilic head group and hydrophobic tail group linked by a spacer at or near the head groups as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Gemini surfactants are a group of novel surfactants with more than one hydrophilic head group and hydrophobic tail group linked by a spacer at or near the head groups. Unique properties of gemini surfactants, such as low critical micelle concentration, good water solubility, unusual micelle structures and aggregation behavior, high efficiency in reducing oil/water interfacial tension, and interesting rheological properties have attracted the attention of academic researchers and field experts. Rheological characterization and determination of the interfacial tension are two of the most important screening techniques for the evaluation and selection of chemicals for enhanced oil recovery (EOR). This review deals with rheology, wettability alteration, adsorption and interfacial properties of gemini surfactants and various factors affecting their performance. The review highlights the current research activities on the application of gemini surfactants in EOR.
