TL;DR: The presence of a substance associated with auxin activity, identified as indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), in Azospirillum brasilense UAP 154 growth medium is shown.
Abstract: Some microorganisms found in the soil are able to produce substances which regulate plant growth. In this study, we show the presence of a substance associated with auxin activity, identified as indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), in Azospirillum brasilense UAP 154 growth medium. A. brasilense was grown and indolic compounds were extracted from the supernatant. These were then analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography and gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The retention time was similar to those of the authentic IBA standard. The compound obtained from HPLC was collected and applied to maize seedlings (Zea mays), inducing biological activity along the roots, similar to that induced by an authentic IBA standard.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated experimentally as well as by computational simulations that this new eutectic structure is favored in such nanoalloy systems.
Abstract: We report on energetic surface reconstruction phenomena observed on bimetallic nanoparticle systems of AuPd and AuCu, similar to a resolidification effect observed during the cooling process in lead clusters. These binary alloy nanoparticles show the fivefold edges truncated, resulting in [100] facets on decahedral structures, an effect largely envisioned and reported theoretically, with no experimental evidence so far. We demonstrate experimentally as well as by computational simulations that this new eutectic structure is favored in such nanoalloy systems.

TL;DR: In this article, high efficient macroalgae based chemical factories and environmental protection have been comprehensively studied for the first time to displace fossil resources to mitigate climate change impact, and the highest to the lowest avoided social impacts will be from the displacements of animal based protein, sugar and minerals, in Indonesia, China and Philippines (producing 27 million tonnes per annum, 93% of global production).

TL;DR: In this article, a synchrotron source was used for X-ray-scattering measurements of supported MoS 2 and cobalt-promoted catalysts, and diffraction features provided information on the dispersion of the active phase.
