TL;DR: Using WGDOP to select the best combination of BSs improves MS positioning accuracy and an approximation method based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to derive W GDOP value efficiently.
Abstract: As the internet and mobile device get universal, mobile positioning in wireless communication becomes an important application. The wireless signal is influenced by many factors. Fading effect and multipath propagation increase the signal propagation time and change the angle of the received signal. All of these reduce mobile positioning accuracy. In line-of-sight (LOS) system, a signal can be measured precisely. However, there are many obstacles between a mobile station (MS) and a base station (BS) in the real environment. It causes non-line-of-sight (NLOS) effect. NLOS is a major factor that causes errors in mobile positioning. Although NLOS influences the signal propagation, these effects can be reduced. To enhance positioning accuracy, we choose the BS with the least error to estimate the mobile position by calculating the geometric dilution of precision (WGDOP), which is a value to quantify positioning performance. A WGDOP small value represents high accuracy. Using WGDOP to select the best combination of BSs improves MS positioning accuracy. Because the calculation of WGDOP is complex, it is a great burden on a device and spends lots of time. To reduce the load of devices, an approximation method based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to derive WGDOP value efficiently.

TL;DR: A visual tool named Spatial Topology Retrieval (STR) is developed for integrating a physical-based spatial allocation tool, which offers a visual interactive interface for architectural space layout in the early design stage, into an online case library of architectural design.
Abstract: This paper aims to develop a visual tool named Spatial Topology Retrieval (STR) for integrating a physical-based spatial allocation tool, which offers a visual interactive interface for architectural space layout in the early design stage, into an online case library of architectural design, which is based on rational database technology with ontology-based authoring tools of metadata of case features. STR provides the case library with a tool for indexing and retrieving the plane views of a given architectural design case.

TL;DR: A serum AST > 200 IU/l or an ALT> 125IU/l are strong predictors of liver injury in children sustaining blunt torso trauma and are recommend theroutine use of serum transaminase levels as screening tests in hemodynamically stable patients.
Abstract: We determined the validity of serumaspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase(ALT) as screening tests in the identificationof liver injuries in pediatric torso trauma patients. We conducted a retrospective study inpediatric patients 200 IU/l or an ALT> 125 IU/l are strong predictors of liver injury in childrensustaining blunt torso trauma. We recommend theroutine use of serum transaminase levels as screeningtests in hemodynamically stable patients.

TL;DR: This work designs a quality-of-service routing protocol, containing efficient bandwidth estimations, admission control and node-disjoint multipath establishment, and combines multiple routes to support QoS transmission.
Abstract: Recently, quality-of-service routing in dynamic, wireless multi-hop ad hoc networks becomes a hot research topic, and various QoS protocols are proposed However, popular QoS routing protocols rarely provide multiple routes Once links break due to node mobility, establishment of new routes leads to large control overhead and extra end-to-end delay We design a quality-of-service routing protocol, containing efficient bandwidth estimations, admission control and node-disjoint multipath establishment While detecting link breaks, we use back-up routes to avoid another wasteful route discovery If a single route with sufficient bandwidth can not be discovered, we combine multiple routes to support QoS transmission

TL;DR: In this article, a nonparametric smoothing method for assessing the adequacy of gener- alized linear mixed models (GLMMs) is developed, which is based on smoothing the residuals over continuous covariates to avoid the partition of continuous covariate on model checking.
Abstract: A nonparametric smoothing method for assessing the adequacy of gener- alized linear mixed models (GLMMs) is developed. The proposed method is based on smoothing the residuals over continuous covariates to avoid the partition of continuous covariates on model checking. The global test statistic has a quadratic form and its for- mulae of expectation as well as variance are derived. The sampling distribution of the quadratic form test statistic is approximated by a scaled chi-squared distribution. For bandwidth selection, the leave-one-out cross-validation approach is recommendable for use. A longitudinal binary data set is utilized to demonstrate the proposed approach. 1. Introduction. The analysis of longitudinal data has been remarkably ourished in the public health and social sciences for years. Longitudinal studies are employed to
