TL;DR: Students’ English learning performance improved and their learning motivation and attitude heightened in the process of collaborative learning, and they enjoy the fun of interacting with others.
Abstract: The study focuses on the investigation of English as a foreign language (EFL) students’ learning motivation and style. Moreover, the study highlights the usage of collaborative learning as the teaching strategy, which is different from traditional teaching method. Teacher made EFL students learn collaboratively to see if it could assist them to learn more efficiently. The study recruited 100 tenth-grade students in Kaohsiung City. They were sorted into two classes: one is the experimental class; the other is the control class. In the process of experiment, the English teacher asked the students in Experimental Class some questions based on the textbook content so that the students could conduct group discussions in each lesson of the semester. Regarding the Control Class, the English teacher guides the students to learn the content according to their textbooks, and doesn’t give the students any group discussion questions. The results designate that students’ English learning performance improved and their learning motivation and attitude heightened in the process of collaborative learning. Students have a high evaluation of collaborative learning because their burden in the learning process is reduced. What’s more, they enjoy the fun of interacting with others.

15 Jul 2018TL;DR: In the survey and assessment, field measurement is taken as the basis for assessment, and the real field hall is measured, which includes in-site measurement and computer simulation evaluation for chamber music performance.
Abstract: Taipei Arts Promotion Center Hall carried out renovation works and acoustical evaluation was conducted in 2003. In the past 15 years of use, due to air humidity and material aging and other factors, may affect the room acoustics. The assessments mainly focus on the setting of the space in theater mode, this is the most frequently used setting by the owner. Auditorium impressions of different audiences are different due to the different characteristics of the reverberation time. Different auditory impressions may also reflect time, space, intensity and frequency characteristics and other factors in sound field. In the survey and assessment, field measurement is taken as the basis for assessment, and the real field hall is measured, which includes in-site measurement and computer simulation evaluation for chamber music performance. Finally, the article finally presents the relevant improvement and description.

17 Jul 2016TL;DR: This study stationed at Red House Theater “Riverside Message Music Pavilion” to explore the subject through the perspective of redefine their spatial acoustic performance capability, and the issue of noise prevention, reinterpreting the historical space combined with industry existing development of live musical performances.
Abstract: Renovation of historical building not only by the performance of the new usage of space continues it life, but more importantly approaches through the musical performance can be activated. Re-use of buildings as a “Live house” which is performed for the musical show with sound reinforcement system is particularly welcome by young people in Taipei. It is important to foster the promotion of pop music platform since starting to focus on issues of re-use of the interior of historical space in the globe, even domestic and foreign literature on the study slightly is still insufficient, which is concentrated on the main function of music performances. Therefore, this study stationed at Red House Theater “Riverside Message Music Pavilion” to explore the subject through the perspective of redefine their spatial acoustic performance capability, and the issue of noise prevention, reinterpreting the historical space combined with industry existing development of live musical performances. Research method is verified by computer simulation which is to understand the optimization of the performance of room acoustic. The results of preliminary study may offer the on-site users and performers of questionnaire interviews which are corresponding on the future objective field measurement.

02 Jul 2013TL;DR: The proposed interactive augmented reality (AR) architecture for online computer supported collaborative work (CSCW) for e-Learning can provide new experiences for users and both the effectiveness and efficiency for online training applications can be significantly improved.
Abstract: This paper proposes an interactive augmented reality (AR) architecture for online computer supported collaborative work (CSCW) for e-Learning. Current CSCW applications for AR are focused on multiple users met together to collaborate on the same physical environment. The proposed architecture can provide collaboration through computer network without the need of face-to- face communication. System architecture and operation scenario are firstly constructed. AR applications for e-Learning is studied. The proposed interactive AR system architecture can provide new experiences for users and both the effectiveness and efficiency for online training applications can be significantly improved. Index Terms - Augmented Reality, Computer Supported Cooperative Work, e-Learning.

05 Jun 2020TL;DR: An improved method for overcoming the shortcoming of nonreversible encryption developed by Huang and Wang is proposed and shows that the proposed method has superior performance in terms of embedding capacity and compression ratio than that of the other state-of-the-art methods.
Abstract: A novel reversible data hiding method based on vacating room for specific encryption process in encrypted image is proposed by Huang and Wang in 2020. In their method, they applied pixel value expansion approach to vacate a specific room for data concealing. However, we find out that the Huang and Wang's method will have a shortcoming of non-reversible encryption while the specific room is larger than 193. This paper proposes an improved method for overcoming the shortcoming of nonreversible encryption developed by Huang and Wang. In our embedding process, the prediction error (PE) is firstly computed, and then, the prediction error strategy is taken into consideration for secret data embedding. The prediction error strategy is applied to determine that the original pixel or flipping one MSB original pixel is suitable for performing message hiding. The experimental results show that the proposed method has superior performance in terms of embedding capacity and compression ratio than that of the other state-of-the-art methods.
