TL;DR: Two generalized functions are presented for consideration, the R-function and the G-function, useful in analysis and as a basis for computation in the fractional calculus.
Abstract: Previous papers have used two important functions for the solution of fractional order differential equations, the Mittag-Leffler functionE(sub q)[at(exp q)](1903a, 1903b, 1905), and the F-function F(sub q)[a,t] of Hartley & Lorenzo (1998). These functions provided direct solution and important understanding for the fundamental linear fractional order differential equation and for the related initial value problem (Hartley and Lorenzo, 1999). This paper examines related functions and their Laplace transforms. Presented for consideration are two generalized functions, the R-function and the G-function, useful in analysis and as a basis for computation in the fractional calculus. The R-function is unique in that it contains all of the derivatives and integrals of the F-function. The R-function also returns itself on qth order differ-integration. An example application of the R-function is provided. A further generalization of the R-function, called the G-function brings in the effects of repeated and partially repeated fractional poles.

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for adapting off-the-shelf PDA devices to user input/output applications such as data entry applications and cellular phone applications is presented.
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed that can adapt off-the shelf PDA devices (90) to user input/output applications such as data entry applications and cellular phone applications. The resulting apparatus (10) may be sized and shaped to be durable and facilitate handheld operation when the user is mobile during use. The apparatus provides features required for portable data entry such as key entry, barcode scanning, radio frequency identification, and wireless local area network (LAN) as well as wide area network (WAN) communications. The apparatus may be operated (a) in a slave mode with inclusion of a PDA device (90) for use in certain input/output operations that are processor intensive as well as (b) in a stand-alone mode without inclusion of a PDA device (90) for use in certain other input/output operations that are not processor intensive.

TL;DR: In this article, a random parameters bivariate ordered probit model is estimated to examine factors affecting the degree of injury sustained by drivers involved in angle collisions, and the results demonstrate that injury severity outcomes are correlated for those involved in the same crash.

TL;DR: In this paper, three-stage tandem mass spectrometry (MS3) and neutral fragment reionization (NfR) were used to investigate the structures of the N-terminal ionic and neutral backbone fragments produced from break-up of the amide bond in protonated peptides that have been collisionally activated.
