TL;DR: Interestingly, the occurrence of dorcas gazelles was positively associated with access to perennial surface water, which indicates, that while the gazelle can survive without free water should the need arise, it preferentially utilises habitats with accessto drinking water.

TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between certain classes of ideals in RH (or R) and the group ring RG is investigated by employing McCoy's "going up" and "going down" method.
Abstract: Let R be a ring with identity and H a normal subgroup of the group G. In this paper the relationship between certain classes of ideals in RH (or R) and the group ring RG is investigated by employing McCoy's “going up” and “going down” method which he used for polynomial rings in [2]. From the results obtained it is inferred that P(R)S = P(RS) if S is an u.p. - semigroup with unity, wher P(R) is the prime radical of R. If H is a central subgroup of G such that G/H is an u.p.- group, then P(RG) = P(RH)RG. Furthermore, if L(R) denotes the Levitzki nil radical of R, then it is proved that if R is any ring and S and ordered semigroup with unity, then L(RS) = L(R)S. Also, if G/H can be ordered then L(RH) ∗ RG = L(RG), while L(RH) = L(RG) ∩ RH for any central subgroup H of G. If the upper nil radical of R is denoted by U(R), and H is normal subgroup of G such that G/H can be ordered, then U(RG) ⊆ U(RH) ∗RG. If R is any ring and S an ordered semigroup with unity, then we have U(RS) ⊆ U(R)S.

TL;DR: The number of eastern rockhopper penguins Eudyptes chrysocome filholi breeding at subantarctic Marion Island decreased, indicating the need for island-wide monitoring to establish the overall trend.
Abstract: The number of eastern rockhopper penguins Eudyptes chrysocome filholi breeding at subantarctic Marion Island decreased from about 173 000 pairs in 1994/95 to about 67 000 pairs in 2001/02. During 1994/95–2002/03 pairs fledged on average 0.40 chicks per year, an amount thought insufficient to balance mortality of breeding adults, and there was a decrease in the mass at arrival at breeding colonies of both males and females. Except in 1997/98, the mass of chicks at fledging was less than that recorded at two other localities. These factors suggest an inadequate supply of food for rockhopper penguins at Marion Island. Decreases of rockhopper penguins at several other localities also have been attributed to inadequate food. Rockhopper penguins at Marion Island continued to feed mainly on crustaceans during chick rearing. There was a marked increase in the contribution of fish to the diet in 1999/00 that coincided with an increase in mass at arrival at colonies of both males and females. Trends in numbers of pairs breeding in different sections of Marion Island were not always consistent, indicating the need for island-wide monitoring to establish the overall trend. Afr. J. mar. TL;DR: The role of language in the identity package of Afrikaans-speaking South African expatriates in the UK is investigated in this article, where a description of the community is provided and the domains of use of their first language identified.
Abstract: UNLABELLED The role of language in the identity package of Afrikaans-speaking South African expatriates in the UK is investigated in this paper. A description of the community is provided and the domains of use of their first language identified. The main research problem is the relationship between language and identity in a diasporic community such as this. THE MAIN FINDINGS OF THE STUDY In all modes of communication, the percentage of Afrikaans (in a bilingual relation with English) progressively decreased the closer the ties between the interlocutors became. The identification of 73% of all respondents with positive language-related statements correlated with 82% of the group's support for various types of cultural activities involving visiting South Africans. IN CONCLUSION The mix of functions pointed to a more complex configuration of bilingual and monolingual domains, with some elements of a heterolocal cultural enclave, in which similar domain types are maintained in parallel, but with differences in actual context of usage.
