TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of surface cold work (CW) strongly affects the crack initiation behavior of austenitic stainless steels under simulated light water reactor (LWR) environment.
Abstract: The influence of surface cold work (CW) strongly affects the crack initiation behavior of austenitic stainless steels under simulated light water reactor (LWR) environment. Within a parametric study crack initiation and crack growth rate (CGR) experiments were performed under simulated boiling water reactor (BWR) environment to determine critical conditions for plant components which might undergo crack formation and subsequent crack growth. Within this project AISI 347 was tested in solution annealed and/or several CW conditions.

TL;DR: In this paper, the synergy effect by combining CCS with geothermal energy production (GE) is obvious; i.e., the injection site for CCS may be surrounded by several GE plants, where the GE plants are operated so the net production of water can balance the injected CO 2 from the CCS operation sufficiently.

TL;DR: In this article, a process of treating moist fuel, particularly biomass fuel, in connection with a power production process, comprises drying moist fuel (7) by means of combustion air (3), which is thereafter supplied to the power generation process combustion section (1).
Abstract: A process of treating moist fuel, particularly biomass fuel, in connection with a power production process, comprises drying moist fuel (7) by means of combustion air (3), which is thereafter supplied to the power production process combustion section (1). Flue gas (11) from the combustion section, which as a result of said drying has become moisture-laden, is condensed (13) while recovering heat (15), which may be used as drying heat. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the flue gas condensation is used to humidify (31) the combustion air.

TL;DR: An optimal design of a control strategy for peak shaving and primary frequency control is presented, and the considered constraints include state-of-charge, rated power and power gradient.
Abstract: Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are one of the key technologies for a successful energy turnaraund m Germany. Several studies have shown that they are only economically efficient com bming different applications [1]. In this paper, areal-time control strategy is presented, to provide peak shaving for intensive energycustomers to achieve reduced network fees in Germany as the primary application. This application is combined with the ancillary service primary frequency control to optimize the economic efficiency of the BESS. The performance of the combined applications control strategy is determmed by the accuracy of short-term load forecasting, which is done by using an artificial neural network. The objective of this paper is trying to achieve an optimal design of a control strategy for peak shaving and primary frequency control, and the considered constraints include state-of-charge, rated power and power gradient. The control strategy is modelled and simulated using MATLAB Simulink R2015b.
