TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the influence of multimedia and traditional presentations on the academic achievement of college students enrolled in an introduction to aviation class at a historically Black institution located in a southern state.
Abstract: The aims of this study were threefold: first, to evaluate the effect of multimedia presentations vs. traditional presentations on the academic achievement of college students enrolled in an introduction to aviation class at a historically Black institution located in a southern state; second, to investigate the influence of gender, experience, and class attendance on the academic achievement of aviation students; and finally, to assess the influence of type presentation (multimedia and traditional) on the course satisfaction scores of aviation students. A posttest-only control-group design was employed in this investigation to collect and analyze the data. 25 students (16 exposed to traditional presentations and 9 exposed to multimedia presentations) were selected to participate in this empirical study. Two instruments, entitled Questionnaire on the Effect of Traditional Method Presentations and Questionnaire on the Effect of Multimedia Presentations, were used to gather the data. The results of the data analysis showed no significant difference between the written examination scores of aviation students by type of presentation. An interesting finding of the study was the significant influence of the variables gender and class attendance on the academic performance of aviation students. Female students did significantly better on the written examination than their male counterparts. In addition, students who missed fewer days did better on examinations than those who missed more days.

TL;DR: It is proved that the proposed scheme can guarantee that the UAVs maintain the formation shape while tracking the reference trajectory and all the signals of the closed-loop system are semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded (SGUUB).
Abstract: In this paper, a novel observer-based adaptive backstepping control scheme is proposed for time-varying formation tracking of multiple unmanned aerial vehicle (multi-UAV) system consisting of multiple nonlinear UAVs with unknown parameters and immeasurable states. The communication network among the UAVs is represented by a directed graph and a part of the UAVs cannot obtain the reference information directly. A state observer is designed to estimate the immeasurable states. An adaptive control scheme is developed by employing backstepping control strategy and the designed state observer. It is proved that the proposed scheme can guarantee that the UAVs maintain the formation shape while tracking the reference trajectory. Besides, all the signals of the closed-loop system are semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded (SGUUB). Simulation example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

TL;DR: In this paper, it has been widely assumed that Russia has been an ally of the Serbs and that it was in particular an anti-Western supporter of Belgrade during the wars of the 1990s.
Abstract: It has long been widely assumed that Russia has been an ally of the Serbs and that it was in particular an anti-Western supporter of Belgrade during the wars of the 1990s. In fact, Russia, in cahoots with the Western powers and NATO, played a game of deception to make it appear that it was ‘anti-Serbian’ when in reality it acted as ‘errand boy’ in order to fulfill the West's objectives in the former Yugoslavia.

TL;DR: In this article, the profile drag of a wing section at supersonic speeds has been applied to a flat plate and two biconvex wing sections of thickness chord ratio 0.05 and 0.10 with zero heat transfer.
Abstract: The method detailed in a previous paper1 for calculating the profile drag of a wing section at supersonic speeds has been applied to a flat plate and two biconvex wing sections of thickness chord ratio 0.05 and 0.10 with zero heat transfer. Ranges of Mach number from 1.5 to 5.0, Reynolds number from 106 to 108 and transition position from the leading edge to the trailing edge have been covered, and the results are here presented in tabular and graphical form. It is found that with increase in Mach number, increase in thickness chord ratio and decrease in Reynolds number the effect of rearward movement of transition on skin friction and profile drag progressively decreases. The reasons for this are briefly discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-criteria decision-making method which combines the grey relation projection method, weighted summation method, weighted product method and ideal point decision making is presented, and how to use the integrated method is introduced.
Abstract: In this paper,a multi-criteria decision-making method which combines the grey relation projection method, weighted summation method, weighted product method and ideal point decision making reasonable for unmanned combat aerial vehicle top-layer scheme selection is presented, and how to use the integrated method is introduced. The developed method can deal with evaluation index by different normalized method,to obtain the weights of the evaluation indexes which involve multi-criteria and multi-layers,and the evaluation indices are contacted by the various weights. The best scheme can be found by applying the multi-criteria decision-making approach which combines four multi-criteria decision-making approaches by decision preferences. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the method are validated by using an example of unmanned combat aerial vehicle(UCAV) top-layer scheme selection.
