TL;DR: Analysis of the characteristics of prosodic and spectral features in speech emotion recognition suggests that spectral features outperform prosodic features.
Abstract: Speech emotion recognition plays a vital role in the field of Human Computer Interaction. The aim of speech emotion recognition system is to extract the information from the speech signal and identify the emotional state of a human being. The information extracted from the speech signal is to be appropriate for the analysis of the emotions. This paper analyses the characteristics of prosodic and spectral features. In addition feature fusion technique is also used to improve the performance. We used Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Regularized Discriminant Analysis (RDA), Support Vector Machines (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) as a Classifiers. Results suggest that spectral features outperform prosodic features. Results are validated over Berlin and Spanish emotional speech databases.

TL;DR: In this article, a wireless sensor based networking system is proposed to address water pumping system to crop and feed nutrients to crop, the first problem is to automate the process of pumping the water to crop in a garden.
Abstract: Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging area to assist agriculture related applications. Applications such as smart gardening, water maintenance, other equipment automatic installations based on human actions, etc., can be implemented using IoT. In this paper, a wireless sensor based networking system is proposed to address water pumping system to crop and feed nutrients to crop. The first problem is to automate the process of pumping the water to crop in a garden. Temperature and humidity sensor are used to monitor the temperature in order to initiate the water pumping system, while soil moisture sensors are used for sensing the water level and initiate the process of pumping the water to the crops in the garden. Rain sensor is used to check the rain, if rain is coming it is going to stop all the motors. Second, liquid nutrients will be given to crop with water pumping system using venturi injector. River Formation Dynamics based data collection is applied to collect and store the information in server for further processing. Proposed systems are deployed and demonstrated using open-source hardware such as micro controller, GSM, etc.

TL;DR: This work mainly investigated on storage and retrieval of geospatial data by integrating Hadoop and Cassandra using prefix-based partitioning and Cassandra’s default partitioning algorithm, i.e. Murmur3Partitioner techniques.
Abstract: Nowadays we are moving towards digitization and making all our devices such as sensors, cameras connected to Internet producing big data This big data has variety of data and has paved the way for the emergence of NoSQL databases, like Cassandra for achieving scalability and availability Hadoop framework has been developed for storing and processing distributed data In this work, we mainly investigated on storage and retrieval of geospatial data by integrating Hadoop and Cassandra using prefix-based partitioning and Cassandra’s default partitioning algorithm, ie Murmur3Partitioner techniques Geohash value is generated that acts as a partition key and also helps in effective search Hence, the time taken for retrieving data is optimized When user requests for spatial queries like finding nearest locations, searching in Cassandra database starts using both partitioning techniques A comparison on query response time is made so as to verify which method is more effective Results showed that prefix-based partitioning technique is efficient than Murmur3 partitioning technique

TL;DR: This paper describes the implementation of a small-scale prototype intrusion detection and web service alarm design using ARM microprocessor that will be integrated wirelessly to the home Wi-FI system and could initiate an email to the respective authority.
Abstract: The latest results and discussion of an on-going study of home automation security and safety are presented here in this paper. We describe the implementation of a small-scale prototype intrusion detection and web service alarm design using ARM microprocessor. This intrusion detection system will be integrated wirelessly to the home Wi-FI system and could initiate an email to the respective authority. There are innumerous commercial home intrusion detection systems readily available in the market, all of which tend to be expensive to install and include contracts with monthly recurring payments. Moreover, these systems have high false alarm rates and unnecessary calls to 911 operators. The novelty of our present implementation design lies in cost and time effective communication of the intrusion event wirelessly to the home-owners and law-enforcement with a confirmed image of the scene during the intrusion event. The above implementation of the home security system is aimed to compared in terms of design and program implementation against both ARM microprocessor and ATmega micro-controller.
