TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the as-grown domain structure in LiTaO3 with different nonuniform spatial distributions of deviation from stoichiometry and explained the mechanisms of domain structure formation due to phase transition and subsequent cooling.
Abstract: We investigated the as-grown domain structure in LiTaO3 with different nonuniform spatial distributions of deviation from stoichiometry. The as-grown structure formed due to cooling below Curie temperature after vapor transport equilibration (VTE) process. The formation of wide charged domain boundary consisting of smooth head-to-head and zig-zag tail-to-tail charged domain walls and flat neutral domain walls was observed. The mechanisms of domain structure formation due to phase transition and subsequent cooling were explained. The different type of charged domain walls in ferroelectrics attracts interest due to possibilities of its applications.

TL;DR: In this article, the method of preparation of [NH3(CH2)3NH3]CuCl4 and [NH 3(CH 2)3 NH3]CdBr4 is described, and optical and dilatometric studies are presented.
Abstract: The method of preparation of [NH3(CH2)3NH3]CuCl4 and [NH3(CH2)3NH3]CdBr4 crystals is given, and optical and dilatometric studies are presented. Optical polarized microscopic observation revealed multidomain states at room temperature orthorhombic phase with domain walls in (101) and (10-1) planes. The temperature dependence of the linear birefringence and the thermal expansion coefficient were measured and critical indices α and β were determined for the [NH3(CH2)3NH3]CdBr4 crystal. The linear birefringence and domain structure studies revealed the single first order transition in the [NH3(CH2)3NH3]CuCl4 crystal.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of various over stoichiometric additives on phase formation, unit cell parameters, microstructure, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of solid solutions has been studied.
Abstract: Influence of various over stoichiometric additives on phase formation, unit cell parameters, microstructure, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of solid solutions 0.8[0.8(Na0.5Bi0.5)TiO3-0.2BaTiO3]-0.2Bi(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3 system has been studied. The unit cell volume slightly decreased in case of the V2O5 additives but did not change in case of Bi2O3, LiF, and KCl additives. Increase in dielectric parameters ert and tanδrt values at the room temperature was revealed for compositions doped by KCl additives, while these parameters decreased in compositions doped by the V2O5 additives. Linear correlation between piezoelectric coefficient d33 measured for separate grains using the Piezoresponse Force Microscopy method and dielectric permittivity ert values at the room temperature was confirmed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors synthesize Ca0.1Sr0.9LaxBi2-xTa2O9 ceramics through solid state double sintering route.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Ca0.1Sr0.9LaxBi2-xTa2O9 ceramics were synthesized through solid state double sintering route. Impedance, resonance and anti-resonance studies under clamped state were carried out on the prepared ceramics. The activation energy for relaxation is within the range 0.850–1.230 eV depending up on composition x. Equivalent circuit modelling was done to the experimental Cole-Cole data so as to obtain the grain, grain boundary resistance and capacitance. The activation energy for grain conduction increased with the increase of x value except for x = 0.05 ceramic composition. The activation energy for grain boundary conduction is lower for the ceramic compositions with lanthanum doped when compared to pure CSBT ceramic. The activation energy for grain and grain boundary conduction are within the range 0.748–1.338 eV depending up on composition x and temperature. The electromechanical coupling factors are above 0.9990 and vary in fourth decimal place with the increase of temperature and composition x. The electromechanical coupling factor decreased with the increase of x value.
