Marker‐assisted backcross introgression of the Yd2 gene conferring resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus in barley
TL;DR: The YLM marker was shown to be effective in the introgression of Yd2 and associated lines carrying the YLM allele associated with resistance produced significantly fewer leaf symptoms and showed a reduction in yield loss when infected with BYDV.

TL;DR: Experiments with plants containing several different Dn genes demonstrated that populations from Chile, the Czech Republic, and Ethiopia are also virulent to Dn4, the gene in all Russian wheat aphid-resistant cultivars produced in Colorado.

TL;DR: Populations of the major groups of microbes (pink and white yeasts, filamentous fungi and bacteria) generally increased in size with time on all tissues sampled in both glasshouse and field, despite plants growing faster in the glasshouse than the field, however, microbial populations were generally significantly larger on field grown plants than on glasshouse grown ones.
