Data for model operation, calibration, and evaluation

TL;DR: The widespread use of the data structures developed by IBSNAT would make possible a ‘dispersed’ but nonetheless standard database for model calibration and evaluation, as well as documentation of experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Yield Reduction in Wheat in Relation to Leaf Disease From Yellow (tan) Spot and Septoria Nodorum Blotch

TL;DR: Yield-loss under different rates of progress of yellow spot and septoria nodorum blotch was examined in four experiments over three years to define the relationship between disease severity and yield and provided information towards the development of disease management strategies for the control of septorian blotch and yellow spot.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of fungicides on the development of Fusarium head blight, yield and deoxynivalenol accumulation in wheat inoculated under field conditions with Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum

TL;DR: Regression analysis showed a strong correlation of disease severity with DON levels (positive correlation) and with yields or TGW (negative correlation) for individual cultivars and locations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crop canopy development and structure influence weed suppression

TL;DR: The oat cultivar competitive ability was associated with high overall leaf area, resistance to loss of tillers under competitive pressure, greater height, canopy structure and development, and the possible contribution of allelopathic exudates to their suppressive ability is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Variation for neutral markers is correlated with variation for quantitative traits in the plant pathogenic fungus Mycosphaerella graminicola

TL;DR: A positive and significant correlation between genetic variation in molecular marker loci and quantitative traits at the multitrait scale is found, suggesting that estimates of overall genetic variation for quantitative traits in M. graminicola could be derived from analysis of the molecular genetic markers.

Crop loss assessment methods.

L. Chiarappa
TL;DR: In the same year, the director general of FAOFAO convened a Symposium on crop losses to emphasize the need for the development and use of experimental methods to estimate crop losses quantitatively as mentioned in this paper.

Plant Breeding Institute.

W. Hoffman
TL;DR: This follow-up report summarises pathotype (pt.) assay results from the samples that have been processed to date, and of note is the recovery of wheat leaf rust pt.1, considered to be of exotic origin.
