A parametric study of vibration of rotating pre-twisted and tapered low aspect ratio cantilever plates

TLDR
In this article, a finite element technique has been used to determine the natural frequencies of a pre-twisted and tapered plate mounted on the periphery of a rotating disc, which is idealized as an assemblage of three noded triangular shell elements with six degrees of freedom at each node.

Vibration analysis of rotating twisted and open conical shells

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical method for free vibration of a rotating twisted and open conical shell is presented by the energy method, where the effect of rotation is considered as initial deformation and initial stress resultants which are obtained by the principle of virtual work for steady deformation due to rotation.

Frequency analysis of centrifugal fan impellers

TL;DR: In this article, the natural frequencies of centrifugal fan impellers were determined by solving tridiagonal block matrices, and the simultaneous iteration scheme was modified to extract the natural frequency from the resulting complex eigenvalue problem.

Geometric Nonlinear Vibrations of Rotating Variable Thickness Plates Induced by Periodic Incoming Wakes

TL;DR: In this article, a periodic incoming wake mathematical model was developed to consider the influence of pressure variations on turbomachines, considering thickness variations along both the chord to reduce vibrations and the span to decrease centrifugal stress.

Parallel processing for nonlinear dynamics simulations of structures including rotating bladed-disk assemblies

TL;DR: There are contributions to four main areas: finite element modeling and analysis of rotational dynamics, numerical algorithms for parallel nonlinear solutions, automatic partitioning techniques to effect load-balancing among processors, and an integrated parallel analysis system.

Gaussian quadrature formulas for triangles

TL;DR: In this article, several formulas for the numerical integration of a function over a triangular area are presented, which are of the Gaussian type and are fully symmetric with respect to the three vertices of the triangle.

Vibration analysis of rotating cantilever plates

TL;DR: In this article, a finite element technique is used to determine the natural frequencies and the mode shapes of a cantilever plate mounted on the periphery of a rotating disc, where the plate is assumed to make any arbitrary angle with the plane of rotation of the disc.

Dynamic analysis of shallow shells with a doubly-curved triangular finite element

TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient dynamic analysis capability for arbitrary shallow shell structures is developed and illustrated with several applications with experimental verifications, based on a compatible, doubly-curved shallow shell element of arbitrary triangular shape which includes thickness variations.
