A review of the structure, and fundamental mechanisms and kinetics of the leaching of chalcopyrite.
TLDR
There is general agreement in the literature that chalcopyrite leaching is significantly affected by solution redox potential with an optimum E(h) range suggesting the participation of leach steps that involve both oxidation and reduction.About:

The anodic behaviour of chalcopyrite in chloride solutions: Potentiostatic measurements
Michael J. Nicol,Suchun Zhang +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of the first part of an electrochemical study of the anodic characteristics of chalcopyrite in the potential region relevant to ambient temperature heap leaching in chloride solutions during which both iron and copper act as oxidants for the mineral.

The mechanisms of improved chalcopyrite leaching due to mechanical activation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the influence of mechanical activation on chalcopyrite leaching and showed that co-grinding of chal copyrite and oxidants (i.e. Fe 2 (SO 4 ) 3 · x H 2 O) stimulated solid-state reactions to form dissolvable copper sulfate, thereby increasing Cu extraction rate significantly.
