TLDR
Ultra-light aerogels have been assembled from cellulose nanofibrils into hierarchically macroporous (several hundred μm) honeycomb cellular structure surrounded with mesoporous (8-60nm) thin walls, demonstrating facile recovery of both dye and aerogel as well as the robust capability of thisaerogel for repetitive applications.

Insight into the Adsorption and Photocatalytic Behaviors of an Organo-bentonite/Co3O4 Green Nanocomposite for Malachite Green Synthetic Dye and Cr(VI) Metal Ions: Application and Mechanisms

TL;DR: The suggested adsorption mechanism was confirmed by the main mathematical parameters of thermodynamic studies that revealed physical, spontaneous, and exothermic uptake processes, and showed high photocatalytic performance under visible light.

Metal ions and organic dyes sorption applications of cellulose grafted with binary vinyl monomers

TL;DR: In this article, the adsorbent Cell-g-AASO3H-co-GMA was synthesized through grafting of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid and binary comonomer glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) using potassium persulfate (KPS) as free radical chemical initiator and NMBA as crosslinker onto the cellulose extracted from agricultural waste rice husk.

3D porous bioadsorbents based on chitosan/alginate/cellulose nanofibers as efficient and recyclable adsorbents of anionic dye.

TL;DR: The proposed CSAC15 bioadsorbent featured repeated dye removal capability after five cycles of adsorption, which is quite outstanding among the developed EBT adsorbents in the literature so far.

Magnetic graphene oxide functionalized by poly dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride for efficient removal of Cr(VI)

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel adsorbent was prepared by introducing the poly dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride (PDMDAAC) onto the magnetic graphene oxide (GO/Fe3O4) for removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions.

Fruit waste-derived cellulose and graphene-based aerogels: Plausible adsorption pathways for fast and efficient removal of organic dyes

TL;DR: In this paper , a cellulose-graphene oxide composite aerogel (CGA) was used for the removal of organic pollutants from wastewater. But, the performance of the CGA was limited by the size, charge, and chemical structure of organic dyes along with textural features.

The adsorption of gases on plane surfaces of glass, mica and platinum.

TL;DR: In this article, the absorption index at the wave length of the band maximum was found to be proportional to the total concentration of metal at shorter wave lengths, however, deviations were observed, the absorption increasing more rapidly with concentration than Beers' law would demand.

Kinetics of Adsorption on Carbon from Solution

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the rate of adsorption of persistent organic compounds on granular carbon is quite low and the rate is partially a function of the pore size distribution of the adsorbent, of the molecular size and configuration of the solute, and of the relative electrokinetic properties of adsorbate and adsorbents.

Application of low-cost adsorbents for dye removal – A review

TL;DR: From a comprehensive literature review, it was found that some LCAs, in addition to having wide availability, have fast kinetics and appreciable adsorption capacities too.

Q1. What contributions have the authors mentioned in the paper "Adsorption and desorption of cationic malachite green dye on cellulose nanofibril aerogels" ?

The rapid MG adsorption was driven by electrostatic interactions and followed a pseudosecond-order adsorption kinetic and monolayer Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
