Diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease using universum support vector machine based recursive feature elimination (USVM-RFE)

TL;DR: This work proposes a novel feature selection technique to incorporate prior information about data distribution in the RFE process as compared to the local approach of feature selection in SVM-RFE, and provides improvement over SVM -RFE in classification of control normal, mild cognitive impairment, and Alzheimer's disease subjects.

Sleep duration during weekdays affects hippocampal gray matter volume in healthy children

TL;DR: It is found that the regional gray matter volume of the bilateral hippocampal body was significantly positively correlated with sleep duration during weekdays after adjusting for age, sex, and intracranial volume.
Journal ArticleDOI

Grey matter changes associated with medication-overuse headache: correlations with disease related disability and anxiety.

TL;DR: Findings are consistent with dysfunction of antinociceptive systems in MOH, which is influenced by anxiety, and may be a neurobiological basis for dependence in a subgroup of MOH patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cortico-limbic responses to masked affective faces across ptsd, panic disorder, and specific phobia.

TL;DR: Comparison of cortico‐limbic neurocircuitry across three different anxiety disorders using a well‐validated emotional probe task shows clear trends in activation of amygdalo‐cortical circuitry across multiple anxiety disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatio-temporal correlation tensors reveal functional structure in human brain.

TL;DR: A local spatio-temporal correlation tensor is derived which captures directional variations of resting-state correlations and which reveals distinct structures in both white and gray matter, suggesting that MRI signal variations from within white matter in a resting state may convey similar information as their corresponding fluctuations of MRI signals in gray matter.

Statistical parametric maps in functional imaging: A general linear approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a general approach that accommodates most forms of experimental layout and ensuing analysis (designed experiments with fixed effects for factors, covariates and interaction of factors).

Spatial registration and normalization of images

TL;DR: A general technique that facilitates nonlinear spatial (stereotactic) normalization and image realignment is presented that minimizes the sum of squares between two images following non linear spatial deformations and transformations of the voxel (intensity) values.

Automated Talairach Atlas labels for functional brain mapping

TL;DR: When used in concert with authors' deeper knowledge of an experiment, the TD system provides consistent and comprehensive labels for brain activation foci, which is better than that of the expert group.

Automatic 3-D model-based neuroanatomical segmentation

TL;DR: A 3‐D model‐based segmentation method is presented in this paper for the completely automatic identification and delineation of gross anatomical structures of the human brain based on their appearance in magnetic resonance images (MRI).
