TLDR
In this paper, the effective mean free paths (MFPs) were obtained for the Au 4f photoelectrons and CKLL Auger electrons in the PEY acquisition mode (with the respective inelastic contributions) with the same kinetic energies in the constant final state acquisition mode.About:

Exploiting electron spectroscopies to probe the structure and organization of self-assembled monolayers: a review
TL;DR: In this article, the use of electron spectroscopies to characterize self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) is discussed, focusing on thiol-derived monolayer on gold with emphasis on n-alkanethiols.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation damage in soft X-ray microscopy
TL;DR: In this article, the rates of chemical transformation by radiation damage of polystyrene (PS), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), and fibrinogen (Fg) have been measured quantitatively using synchrotron radiation.

Vertically Segregated Structure and Properties of Small Molecule?Polymer Blend Semiconductors for Organic Thin-Film Transistors
Nayool Shin,Jihoon Kang,Lee J. Richter,Vivek M. Prabhu,R. Joseph Kline,Daniel A. Fischer,Dean M. DeLongchamp,Michael F. Toney,Sushil K. Satija,David J. Gundlach,Balaji Purushothaman,John E. Anthony,Do Y. Yoon +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive structure and performance study of thin blend films of the small-molecule semiconductor, 2,8-difluoro-5,11-bis(triethylsilylethynyl)anthradithiophene (diF-TESADT), with various insulating binder polymers in organic thin-film transistors is reported.

Structural development of mercaptophenol self-assembled monolayers and the overlying mineral phase during templated CaCO3 crystallization from a transient amorphous film.
Jonathan R. I. Lee,T. Yong-Jin Han,Trevor M. Willey,Dongbo Wang,Robert W. Meulenberg,Joakim Nilsson,Patricia M. Dove,Louis J. Terminello,Tony van Buuren,James J. De Yoreo +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that formation of ACC on the MPSAMs brings about a profound change in the morphology of the monolayers: although the as-prepared MP SAMs are composed of monomers with well-defined orientations, precipitation of the amorphous mineral phase results in substantial structural disorder within the monlayers.

Formation and Structure of Self-Assembled Monolayers.
TL;DR: Monolayers of alkanethiolates on gold are probably the most studied SAMs to date and offer the needed design flexibility, both at the individual molecular and at the material levels, and offer a vehicle for investigation of specific interactions at interfaces, and of the effect of increasing molecular complexity on the structure and stability of two-dimensional assemblies.

High-Resolution X-Ray Photoemission Spectrum of the Valence Bands of Gold
TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution gold-valence-band photoemission spectra were obtained by the use of monochromatized k-ensuremath-alpha (kα) radiation and a single-crystal specimen.

TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of the IR data using numerical simulations based on an average single chain model suggests that the alkyl chains in monolayers on silver are all-trans zig-zag and canted by - 12' from the normal to the surface.
