TLDR
In this article, the authors examined the predictive value of past behavior and self-regulatory ability across these two dietary behaviors and found that intention was a significant predictor for the hedonic behavior, but not for the distal behavior.About:

Avoiding food waste by Romanian consumers: The importance of planning and shopping routines
TL;DR: In this paper, a survey of 244 Romanian consumers examined the influence of intentions not to waste food, planning and shopping routines, as well as moral attitudes and lack of concern towards wasting food, a subjective norm of disapproval towards food waste, and perceived behavioural control on consumers' self-reported food waste.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sustainable food waste management towards circular bioeconomy: Policy review, limitations and opportunities.
TL;DR: This study identifies research gaps on how circular bioeconomy can be achieved through sustainable food waste management by comparing the similarities and differences in concepts of bio economy and circular economy, reviewing the benefits and limitations of the existing policies, and evaluating the global situations of food waste and its management on household and commercial basis to promote circular bio economy.
Journal ArticleDOI
From the table to waste: An exploratory study on behaviour towards food waste of Spanish and Italian youths
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the complexities of food waste behavior within the framework of the Theory of Planned Behaviour, and concluded that marketing and sale strategies negatively influence the waste behavior of individuals, emphasizing the important role of retailers in preventing the generation of waste.
Journal ArticleDOI
The theory of planned behaviour and discrete food choices: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Máirtín S. McDermott,Máirtín S. McDermott,Madalyn Oliver,Alexander Svenson,Thomas George Simnadis,Eleanor J Beck,Tim Coltman,Donald C Iverson,Peter Caputi,Rajeev Sharma +9 more
TL;DR: The variability in the association of the TPB with different food choice behaviours uncovered by the moderator analyses strongly suggest that researchers should carefully consider the nature of the behaviour being exhibited prior to selecting a theory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Promoting fruit and vegetable consumption. Testing an intervention based on the theory of planned behaviour.
TL;DR: The increase of fruit and vegetable consumption is a promising preliminary finding for those primarily interested in increasing fruit and vegetables consumption, however, those interested in theory development may have concerns about the use of this model to explain behaviour change in this context.

The theory of planned behavior
TL;DR: Ajzen, 1985, 1987, this article reviewed the theory of planned behavior and some unresolved issues and concluded that the theory is well supported by empirical evidence and that intention to perform behaviors of different kinds can be predicted with high accuracy from attitudes toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control; and these intentions, together with perceptions of behavioral control, account for considerable variance in actual behavior.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of the Theory of Planned Behaviour: a meta-analytic review.
TL;DR: A quantitative integration and review of research on the Theory of Planned Behaviour and the subjective norm, which found that intentions and self-predictions were better predictors of behaviour than attitude, subjective norm and PBC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of goal-directed behavior: Attitudes, intentions, and perceived behavioral control
Icek Ajzen,Thomas J. Madden +1 more
TL;DR: A theory of planned behavior, an extension of Ajzen and Fishbein's (1980, Understanding attitudes and predicting social behavior Englewood-Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall) theory of reasoned action, was tested in two experiments.

Predicting and Changing Behavior: The Reasoned Action Approach
Martin Fishbein,Icek Ajzen +1 more
TL;DR: The reasoned action approach as mentioned in this paper is an integrative framework for the prediction and change of human social behavior, and it provides methodological and conceptual tools for predicting and explaining social behavior and for designing behavior change interventions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Contributions of anterior cingulate cortex to behaviour.
TL;DR: The cingulate epilepsy syndrome provides important support of experimental animal and human functional imaging studies for the role of anterior cingulates cortex in movement, affect and social behaviours.
